New Music and the Role of Spotify

New Music and the Role of Spotify

We take a deep dive into recent comments from Spotify CEO, Daniel Ek about how it's no longer viable for bands to release new music every three to four years. We consider how the ways in which we discover new music and keep up with our favourite artists have changed in a turbulent twenty years for the music industry between 2000 and 2020.

The-Other-Ed ,

Interesting and entertaining music show

Always love listening to Ed and Liam chat (and occasionally rant) about music, sometimes about new stuff and lots about back when they were young!

Vanillaface1982 ,

Nostalgia fest

Brilliant podcast, I feel like I’ve known the guys for ages as their music tales from the years gone by pretty much mirror my own escapades. Top stuff and really engaging.

tomkclarke ,

Great pod for music and comedy fans

The hosts are very easy to listen too and clearly have a deep love of music. They do depart from a single format which keeps it interesting and a better podcast with the open mics always interesting
