There’s something in you that keeps tugging at you, but you keep putting it on the back burner, day after day, choosing to stick to the comfort of your safe (but not satisfying) job, dreaming but never acting out of fear of what people would think. Out of fear of failure. Imagine how Noah felt when he was told to build the ark. At that time, God was disappointed because the world was consumed in chaos - partying, drinking, fighting, sleeping around, you know - SIN without the pursuit of HIM. Meanwhile, God told Noah to build a giant boat. Now, it’s hard to imagine Old Testament times - but this guy just started building a boat for no “apparent” reason (apparent to the people) - can you imagine how crazy they thought he was? Also, can you imagine the tools he had to use? And how long it must have taken? The boat was 510’ long, 85’ wide, and 51’ high. If the people of the area thought he was crazy then, just wait til they saw him putting animals in it. The guy looked nuts. He built a floating zoo. Plus, he had to store food for all these creatures, separate predators from prey, make room for his family, account for cleaning animal waste, and ensure every animal and human would have access to fresh drinking water. I come from a ranching family and it’s hard enough to keep waterers full for our cattle - imagine managing all those different species on a BOAT. Thankfully it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, so there was a consistent flow of drinking water for part of their time on the boat. So Noah probably looked INSANE building this ark, then loading it full of animals. What is your “ark?” What is it that God is calling you to build, but you’re worried about what people are going to think? Once you build that ark, are you prepared to endure the storm? I challenge you to listen to what God is calling you to. Talk with him - that voice you hear back isn’t made up. It’s the Holy Spirit inside you.
