Customer Reviews
Great MP podcast- don't give up because of the audio
I have no doubt Ed (the host) cares deeply & has a deep passion for Missing Persons cases, the missing & their loved ones. The episodes are heavily researched & go into great detail unlike many other podcasts or media outlets.
I personally like the length of the episodes & go back to finish an episode if time doesn't allow.
Unfortunately the audio quality is horrendous, if I didn't care about the information provided in the interviews & MP cases I would give up & see why others do. The poor editing, constant rustling of the mic, heavy breathing, mmm hmmm's & k, k, etc drive me crazy, especially as Ed's audio cuts in loud. I can see others being put off by this & switching off. Repeating what a guest says or asking the same questions again & again is off putting, I often feel bad for the guest. I have listened to the same guests in other interviews & some seem more relaxed. A good interviewer is a good listener & sometimes that means you say nothing & just let your guest talk without interruption.
I also don't agree various people's lack of involvement with Ed or the podcast is necessarily always suspicious, respectfully I can think of many non nefarious reasons why people wouldn't take part. Another angle, I have also seen other podcasters or other laypeople overstepping in investigations acting like they are owed answers & it puts an investigation or others at risk. In reality they aren't law enforcement & if I was in that position I would seriously have to think about participating in interviews outside law enforcement, especially if I didn't know the podcaster.
If the audio quality was vastly improved & a little editing to remove the mmm hmmm's & a like I believe the podcast could reach far more people. Light editing wouldn't compromise the unedited style.
Unfound isn't your typical style true crime podcast & I like that! It isn't an entertainment podcast in the same way many true crime podcasts are now branded or tilt towards. Ed doesn't follow the cool kids to CrimeCon etc, I like his approach & respect him for sticking to his morals. 'Unfound' passionately advocates for the missing & I have no doubt many cases wouldn't have a voice without Ed. I hope 2020 brings some of those quality changes & in turn more people listen to Unfound.
The Host Needs To Check His Ego
The cases are interesting but Ed’s ego is just so out of control. Talking over guests, being generally rude and thinking he knows it all about everything.
It’s a shame as it has potential but my goodness, Ed spoils it.
Top Class
Ed’s podcast is always so engaging and very informative due to his knowledge and in depth questions he asks all based on his amazing experience in missing people.
