What to Do When You Don’t Have Time to Do Everything

Watch this episode on YouTube! When life gets chaotic, your business doesn't suddenly need less from you. Lately, I've been working roughly half-time hours with a full-time workload, which has forced me to get very clear about my business priorities and where my limited energy will have the biggest impact. In this episode, I'm sharing my approach to time management for entrepreneurs when there simply isn't enough time to do everything. Instead of trying to check off the entire to-do list, I use strategic thinking to identify the highest-return tasks that only I can do. It's the same kind of expert guidance I use with consulting clients who feel overwhelmed by everything competing for their attention. In this episode, I discuss: How I determine my highest-impact business prioritiesWhy time management for entrepreneurs isn't about getting everything doneHow strategic thinking helps me decide what deserves my attention right nowThe expert guidance I use to turn a big 90-day goal into manageable weekly actions If you're staring at a packed inbox and wondering where to begin, start with your business priorities. Better time management for entrepreneurs comes from knowing where you're going, using strategic thinking to identify what will actually get you there, and getting expert guidance when you need help finding that clarity. Why Office Couches Are Keeping Me Up at Night

Watch this episode on YouTube! I consider myself a pretty confident practice owner. I feel good about my finances, marketing, team, ethics, and most of the decisions I make. But apparently, my business confidence has one unexpected weakness: office couches. For the first time, I'm creating a dedicated Thriving Child Center office space that I'm actually responsible for designing. And suddenly, I'm questioning everything. This experience has become a real-time lesson in overcoming self-doubt and recognizing how even experienced practice owners can feel completely out of their depth when doing something new. In this episode, I discuss: Why setting up private counselling practice space brought up insecurities I didn't know I hadHow my experience with office space during COVID still affects the decisions I make todayWhy business confidence doesn't mean feeling confident about everythingThe two extremes my brain immediately jumped to when planning the new spaceWhy overcoming self-doubt sometimes means choosing the reasonable option instead of avoiding or over-investingHow the right therapy resources and outside perspective can help when a decision feels bigger than it actually isWhy a new challenge can shake your confidence even when you've successfully handled much bigger business decisions If you're setting up private counselling practice space or facing another milestone that suddenly has you second-guessing yourself, I hope this episode reminds you that uncertainty doesn't erase your business confidence. Overcoming self-doubt is part of doing something new, and having supportive therapy resources can help you step back and see the bigger picture. Whether you're setting up private counselling practice systems, spaces, or something completely different, you don't have to know exactly what you're doing the first time. Sometimes the best therapy resources are the ones that help you trust that you can figure it out. LET’S CONNECT: Join the Worth It newsletter! You’re Allowed to Expect Their Best Work

Watch this episode on YouTube! You're allowed to expect excellent work from the people you hire. As therapists, many of us are trained to prioritize empathy, soften difficult conversations, and give people the benefit of the doubt. But as CEOs, there are times when we need to evaluate results objectively. If I'm making an investment in my business, I need to see a return on investment, and that requires clear CEO communication, a thoughtful financial strategy, and a solid understanding of business and investing. In this episode, I share a recent experience where I received work that fell far below my expectations and the mindset shift that helped me give direct, respectful feedback. We talk about why therapists often struggle with setting business standards, how to evaluate return on investment instead of intentions, and why CEO communication is an essential leadership skill for every practice owner. In this episode, I discuss: Why CEO communication is different from therapeutic communicationHow I evaluate every investment based on return on investmentWhy a strong financial strategy helps you make better hiring decisionsHow business and investing require you to think like an owner, not just a clinicianHow improving your financial strategy helps you protect your time and money If you've ever hesitated to speak up because you didn't want to hurt someone's feelings, I hope this episode gives you permission to lead differently. Better CEO communication, a stronger focus on return on investment, a practical financial strategy, and greater confidence in business and investing will help you make better decisions and build a stronger business. You Earned the Profit. Why Won’t You Take It?

Watch this episode on YouTube! What if your practice is already profitable, but you're too afraid to enjoy it? I've noticed that many successful practice owners are generating business profit, yet they're hesitant to actually move that money into their personal accounts. In this episode, I unpack why that happens, how it affects your confidence as a business owner, and why it may be time to reset your mindset around money. I'll share the common fears that keep therapists from paying themselves, the financial strategy I use to make thoughtful decisions about profit, and why business and investing become much more accessible once you allow yourself to benefit from the business you've built. In this episode, I discuss: Why so many therapists struggle to take home their business profitThe psychological barriers that make it hard to reset your mindset around moneyHow a simple financial strategy can help you pay yourself with confidenceWhy leaving too much money in your business can create new problemsThe connection between business and investing and long-term financial freedom If you've been avoiding your numbers or leaving your business profit sitting in your business account, this episode is your invitation to reset your mindset. With the right financial strategy and a healthier approach to business and investing, you can build a practice that supports both your clients and the life you want outside of work. The Clinical Skills That Make Business Problems Less Scary

Watch this episode on YouTube! Business problems are inevitable, but they don't have to be overwhelming. Over the years, I've realized that the same clinical Skills I use with therapy clients are the ones that help me navigate difficult moments as a business owner. Instead of reacting with panic, I've learned to gather information, regulate my emotions, and focus on business problem solving one step at a time. In this episode, I share how I approach business challenges through a clinical lens, why that mindset has made me a calmer and more effective leader, and how the right therapy tools can help you solve problems with more confidence. Whether you're navigating staffing issues, marketing setbacks, or unexpected obstacles, these are the same strategies I use as a therapist business coach to help practice owners move forward. In this episode, I discuss: • How clinical Skills can make difficult business decisions feel less overwhelming • My framework for effective business problem solving when challenges arise • Why gathering information before reacting leads to better outcomes • How I use the same therapy tools in business that I use in clinical work • Why every practice owner benefits from thinking like a consultant instead of a critic • The importance of building a network and seeking support from a therapist business coach when you're stuck • How solving today's problems often creates stronger systems for tomorrow If business challenges have been weighing on you, I hope this episode reminds you that you already have many of the clinical Skills you need. With thoughtful business problem solving, practical therapy tools, and the right therapist business coach in your corner, you can navigate difficult seasons with confidence and come out stronger on the other side. What's on My CEO Dashboard (and Why)

If you asked me a few years ago whether every practice owner needed a dashboard, I probably would have said no. I built a successful practice long before I had one. But today, my CEO Dashboard is one of the most valuable tools I use because it helps me understand the health of my business in just a few minutes each week. In this episode, I pull back the curtain on the KPI dashboard I review every Monday, the business metrics I pay the closest attention to, and how those numbers help me spot problems before they become expensive. I'll also share the expert guidance I give consulting clients when they're deciding which numbers actually belong on their own dashboard. In this episode, I discuss: • The business metrics I review every single week • Why my CEO Dashboard starts with projected revenue • The key pieces every KPI dashboard should include • The expert guidance I give practice owners building their first dashboard • How a simple CEO Dashboard can help you make better business decisions If you want to build a smarter KPI dashboard, focus on the right business metrics, and create a CEO Dashboard that helps you lead with confidence, this episode shares the expert guidance I use in my own practice every week. How I Network with Physician Offices (and Actually Get Referrals)

Watch this episode on YouTube! One of the most powerful ways I've grown my practice is by building genuine relationships with physician offices. The mistake I see many practice owners make is treating networking like advertising. They drop off brochures or business cards and hope for physician referrals, but real relationships are built through trust, curiosity, and connection. In this episode, I walk you through the exact strategy I use for healthcare networking, from choosing the right physician offices to setting up lunch-and-learns, creating an effective elevator pitch, and becoming a trusted referral partner. It's one of my favorite marketing for therapists strategies because it focuses on building long-term relationships instead of chasing quick wins. In this episode, I discuss: • How I choose which physician offices to network with • Why authentic healthcare networking creates better physician referrals than dropping off brochures • Why understanding your niche makes marketing for therapists much more effective • The therapy tools I use to make it easy for physicians to contact me directly If you want more physician referrals, stronger healthcare networking, and practical marketing for therapists ideas, this episode shares the relationship-building approach and therapy tools that have helped me grow my practice for years. The Kind of People Every Practice Owner Needs

The people you surround yourself with have a bigger impact on your business than you might realize. Every mentor, Facebook group, podcast, and conversation shapes your entrepreneur mindset. Over time, those voices influence the decisions you make, the risks you take, and how you respond when business gets hard. In this episode, I share one of the biggest lessons I've learned from spending time with successful entrepreneurs: the best people don't tell you why your ideas won't work. They ask, "How?" That simple shift has transformed my entrepreneur mindset, strengthened my growth mindset for business, and changed the way I approach challenges. In this episode, I discuss: • Why your environment shapes your entrepreneur mindset • How intentional business networking helps you solve bigger problems • Why asking "How?" creates a stronger growth mindset for business • How my work as a therapy business coach has been influenced by these conversations • What I look for when building meaningful business networking relationships • How a growth mindset for business helps you navigate uncertainty with confidence If you're ready to strengthen your entrepreneur mindset, build better business networking relationships, or learn from a therapy business coach who believes every challenge starts with "How?", this episode will help you develop the growth mindset for business you need to keep growing.
