How to Break 90% of Your Bad Habits in 2026! (Use THIS 10-Second Trick and Beat the Pattern!)

Today, Jay invites us to rethink everything we’ve been taught about breaking bad habits. Instead of blaming willpower, discipline, or personality traits, he reframes habits as systems shaped by our triggers, emotions, and environments. He explains why most habits aren’t character flaws but subconscious coping strategies designed to provide comfort, escape, or relief. With this approach, we end up battling ourselves instead of breaking the loop that’s actually sustaining the habit. The real shift begins when we stop asking “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking “What is this habit doing for me?” Jay then breaks down the four-part habit loop: trigger, emotion, behavior, and reward and shows how interrupting just one part can collapse the entire pattern. He explains that our environment matters more than motivation and if you want to change a habit, you have to change the cues that trigger it. Rather than quitting habits cold turkey, he encourages replacing the reward with a healthier form of relief, reminding us that the brain will always seek comfort. Through simple, practical examples, he shows how small interruptions, conscious pauses, and thoughtful substitutions can dismantle habits that once felt impossible to break.  In this episode, you'll learn: How to Break Bad Habits Without Relying on Willpower How to Identify the Hidden Triggers Fueling Your Habits How to Interrupt the Habit Loop How to Stop Fighting Habits and Start Understanding Them How to Build an Identity That Makes Good Habits Stick How to Use Small Replacements to Create Big Change Every habit you want to change once served a purpose, now you get to decide what serves you going forward. When you become aware of your triggers, redesign your environment, and choose support over struggle, growth becomes lighter and more sustainable.  With Love and Gratitude, Jay Shetty Join over 750,000 people to receive my most transformative wisdom directly in your inbox every single week with my free newsletter. I Spent Years Hating Myself Until I Started This Practice

Melissa Wood-Tepperberg shares the moment she found herself on her bathroom floor, looking in the mirror with tears streaming down her face, saying "I hate you" to her own reflection after years of binge drinking, bulimia, and drug experimentation. She opens up about growing up in poverty with four sisters, learning at age seven to manage household chaos, and how that early survival mode shaped decades of self-destructive patterns masked by perfection. You'll hear how she finally found peace through a practice that became her anchor, allowing her to finally see herself clearly and build a wellness platform that now serves millions, all while navigating the tension between growth and staying true to what feels aligned. The conversation dives into why the fastest way out of suffering is serving others, how to recognize when you're creating chaos because safety feels unfamiliar, and why Melissa is currently stripping away new masks as she steps into motivational speaking. She offers raw honesty about still waking up with dark thoughts after years of healing work, and how she's learned to get herself out quickly by staying connected to source. Why Your Goals Fail By February (And How to Fix It)

Lewis opens with a hard truth: goals don't fail because your dreams are too big, they fail because your system is too weak.  He shares the exact framework he's used for 13 years to show up consistently for his podcast, master public speaking from a place of crippling fear, and build multiple streams of success. Through personal stories of sleeping on his sister's couch while dreaming of speaking on big stages, Lewis proves that massive transformation starts with micro actions you take today. He breaks down how writing your goals increases success by 43%, why accountability kept Mr. Beast and his mastermind partners locked in for 1,000 consecutive days, and how celebrating progress instead of chasing perfection will change your relationship with achievement forever. This isn't about motivation that fades by February, this is about building systems that work when life gets hard. Finishing Things: How to Actually Complete What You Start (And Keep Promises to Yourself)

What if starting something new isn’t the real challenge—but finishing it is? Why do so many projects, goals, and ideas die in the “messy middle”? What if completing a task isn’t just about willpower, but about shifting who you are at a deeper level? Are you a person who loves beginnings but avoids endings—or could you train yourself to finish with ease? In this episode of A Really Good Cry, Radhi Devlukia explores the gap between starting and finishing. Drawing from science, Ayurveda, and her own life, she explains why our brains crave novelty but resist follow-through—and how to move from the dopamine rush of beginnings to the serotonin stability of completion. Through honesty, practical tools, and gentle insight, Radhi guides listeners to shift identity, build momentum, and cultivate the discipline needed to see projects through—all while learning to celebrate small wins along the way. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why starting is easy but finishing is hard—and how your brain tricks you How to turn “too many open drawers” into actionable focus Tools to create micro-finish lines and train your boredom muscle How to shift from being a “starter” to a “finisher” Ways to make progress sustainable, consistent, and personally rewarding This isn’t about working harder—it’s about finishing smarter.   Follow Radhi: https://www.instagram.com/radhidevlukia/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxWe9A4kMf9V_AHOXkGhCzQ https://www.facebook.com/radhidevlukia1/ https://www.tiktok.com/@radhidevlukia See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hitting rock bottom is one of the most painful human experiences - when the future is blurry, the past feels heavy, and you barely recognize the person staring back in the mirror. In this episode, we explore what those lowest points really feel like, why we sometimes end up there, and how, against all odds, they can become the very place where healing and transformation begin. We explore: •        What rock bottom feels like•        The role of identity collapse and self-concept clarity•        Passivity, external locus of control, and addiction as routes to rock bottom•        Our dark night of the soul and searching for meaning•        Why rock bottom can motivate change•        5 tips climbing out and rebuilding self-concept If you’ve ever felt like you’ve lost control, lost yourself, or lost your way - this episode is for you.
