In this conversation, Jay sits down with Olympic medalist and world champion fencer Miles Chamley-Watson to explore the mindset behind true resilience. Miles opens up about how fencing became his anchor through a difficult childhood, and the lessons shaped by failure, racism, family trauma, and the pressure of competing on the world’s biggest stages. Together, they unpack how confidence is earned through competence, how adversity can be turned into fuel, and why real success is staying rooted in who you are while creating opportunities for others. Throughout the episode, Miles shares the principles that helped him turn setbacks into purpose and use his platform to inspire the next generation. In this episode you'll learn: How to Turn Setbacks Into Fuel for Success How to Perform Under Extreme Pressure How to Build Resilience Through Adversity How to Stop Letting Fear Control Your Decisions How to Create a Life Bigger Than Your Achievements How to Be the Person Others Can Look Up To No matter where you are in your journey, remember that you don’t have to be perfect to move forward. Alex O’Connor: #1 Shift That Stops Endless Overthinking (FINALLY Get Unstuck)

What if certainty is what’s actually keeping you stuck? Today Jay sits down with philosopher and creator Alex O’Connor for a deeply thought-provoking conversation about consciousness, certainty, religion, and the questions that quietly shape the way we live. Alex opens up about growing up rebellious, struggling in school, and feeling disconnected from traditional systems before discovering philosophy and the search for truth. Together, they explore why so many people feel pressure to have life figured out too early, and why curiosity, self-awareness, and the willingness to question your beliefs may matter more than having all the answers. Jay and Alex unpack the mysteries of the human mind, the illusion of self, the limits of science, and humanity’s fear of death. Drawing from neuroscience, philosophy, and Eastern traditions, Alex challenges the idea that life can be fully explained through logic alone, while reflecting on how uncertainty can lead to deeper understanding rather than fear. This episode is an invitation to think beyond labels and rigid beliefs, and a reminder that some of life’s most meaningful discoveries begin when we stop pretending we’re certain about everything. In this episode you'll learn: How to Find What You’re Truly Good At How to Think Beyond Traditional Success How to Question Your Deepest Beliefs How to Balance Logic and Intuition How to Stop Living on Autopilot How to Become Comfortable With Uncertainty Your doubts don’t make you weak, they make you human. And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is admit you’re still learning, while continuing to search for truth, purpose, and peace along the way. If you’re ready to question everything you thought you knew about consciousness, religion, truth, and what it means to be human, Alex O’Connor’s Within Reason podcast is where philosophy becomes deeply personal. 7 Mindset Shifts That ACTUALLY Work (Finally Change How You Think, React & Show Up)

Today, Jay breaks down seven mindset shifts that have fundamentally changed how he approaches pain, relationships, purpose, and growth. This isn’t surface-level inspiration. It’s the kind of perspective that stays with you, reshaping how you think in hard moments and how you show up every single day. Jay challenges the idea that clarity comes before action, showing instead that purpose is built through movement, experimentation, and courage. Most people don’t fail because they lack discipline. They fail because their environment quietly shapes their habits, energy, and identity over time. From the stories we tell ourselves to the relationships we choose, Jay reveals how our internal narrative drives everything, from resilience to self-worth. In this episode you'll learn: How to Heal From the People Who Trigger You How to Stop Waiting and Start Moving Forward How to Build an Environment That Supports Growth How to Recognize the Patterns Keeping You Stuck How to Create Stronger Relationships Through Daily Habits How to Practice Mindsets That Actually Change Your Life The way you think shapes the way you live, and even the smallest shift in perspective can begin changing the direction of your life. You do not need to have everything figured out to move forward. You only need the courage to take one honest step today. Unnormal?

In this live conversation, Jay sits down at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas with Matthew Hussey for an honest and refreshing discussion about modern love, dating, and relationships. Together, they unpack why dating feels so exhausting today, how we confuse chemistry with emotional chaos, and why real connection is often quieter, steadier, and healthier than we expect. Jay and Matthew also explore the importance of self-worth, emotional safety, and trusting yourself enough to walk away from relationships that no longer serve you. It’s a thoughtful reminder that love shouldn’t make you lose yourself, and that the right relationship should help you feel more like yourself than ever before. In this episode, you'll learn: How to Stop Chasing Chemistry How to Set Healthy Standards How to Communicate Your Needs Clearly  How to Trust Yourself Again How to Date Without Losing Yourself How to Break Toxic Dating Patterns How to Create a Strong Relationship The right relationship will never require you to abandon yourself, shrink your needs, or constantly prove your worth. The Neuroscience of Identity: Why You Keep Repeating the Same Patterns | Emily McDonald

Your brain is making choices for you before you even realize it. Neuroscientist Emily McDonald, known as Emonthebrain, studies how your identity, nervous system, and subconscious programming quietly run the show. Most people think they're choosing. Research shows the neural pattern of a decision lights up in a brain scan before you're consciously aware you've made it. That's the gap Emily spent years learning to close. She grew up with clinical depression, ADHD, anxiety, and a victim mindset baked in by illness and circumstance. She wasn't looking for a life philosophy. She switched her major to neuroscience because it sounded cool and got a 100 on her first exam. What she found changed everything. The science she uncovered is this: your brain holds a model of who you are in the default mode network. It uses that model to predict your thoughts, behaviors, and choices on autopilot. If the model says you're someone who struggles with money, or fails at relationships, or can't focus, your nervous system quietly steers you toward confirming that story. The identity is the destiny. Shifting it means more than positive thinking. It means identity anchors, environment, the people around you, the habits encoded in your body. Emily calls it identity shifting, and she coaches people through it by asking a deceptively simple question: do you have a to-do list or a to-be list? Most people have never sat down to ask who they're becoming, only what they're accomplishing. This conversation will rewire the way you think about why you keep falling back into old patterns, how affirmations can actually work against you, and what neuroscience actually says about the law of attraction. Emily's Website Emily's Instagram Mindcraft Coaching Program In this episode you will: Understand how the default mode network stores your identity and drives your choices below conscious awareness Learn the identity shifting process Emily uses with coaching clients to break subconscious patterns holding them back Discover why affirmations backfire and how to use forward motion and dopamine to make them actually work Explore the neuroscience behind the law of attraction and why you attract what your nervous system is wired for, not what you want Understand how ADHD medication, dopamine dependency, and addiction cycles form in the brain and what it takes to rewire them For more information go to https://lewishowes.com/1935 For more Greatness text PODCAST to +1 (614) 350-3960 Follow The Daily Motivation for essential highlights from The School of Greatness More SOG episodes we think you’ll love: Dr Joe Dispenza Dr. K Dr. Sue Morter TOPICS Emily McDonald, neuroscience, identity shifting, default mode network, neuroplasticity, law of attraction, subconscious reprogramming, ADHD, dopamine, limiting beliefs, nervous system alignment, victim mindset, Emonthebrain Get more from Lewis!  Get my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!
