"AuDHD... Or Just A Bit Weird...?" follows my late-in-life journey through an AuDHD assessment, unpacking lifelong traits, their impact and the coping strategies I've picked up along the way.

  1. Gill Of All Trades! With Gillian Charlton!

Gill Of All Trades! With Gillian Charlton!

I've called this episode Gill Of All Trades because Gill is someone, who like me and many other ADHD people, has many strings to her bow and it's something I feel we should celebrate more! I was first introduced to Gill through my gorgeous mate Laura on a facetime, if I recall correctly, last New Years Eve. She was bouncing around in her pyjamas singing and I was immediately drawn to her energy. Gill is a naturally funny person, which is something I love but there is also so much more to her... Gill Charlton is a former British Army soldier, comedian, celebrant, speaker and full‑time Northern chatterbox. She was diagnosed with combined‑type ADHD at 38 while still serving, during treatment for PTSD and following a cancer diagnosis in 2018.After 24 years in the Army, PTSD and a long medical discharge process led Gill to leave service in 2023, throwing her sense of identity into chaos. She coped the only way an ADHD brain knows how — by doing everything. Gill immersed herself in recovery programmes based around adaptive sport, saying yes to sailing, snowboarding, climbing, axe throwing and pretty much anything else offered. She was also selected for the Invictus Games and took a stand‑up comedy course, which led to her becoming co‑founder and director of the Veterans Comedy Club CIC.After leaving the Army, Gill retrained and worked full‑time as a celebrant, building a business rooted in connection, humour and authenticity — a role she still continues alongside her work. A year ago, she moved into a full‑time Events Executive role in the charity sector, supporting military‑connected communities. Through podcasts like ADHD AF, Gill found the ADHD community she’d been searching for and now runs the Manchester peer support group for the ADHD AF+ charity. She’s also a mum to two AuDHD sons, an event host and speaker, and someone who gets involved in almost everything. Nowt As Queer As Folk! With Heidi Mavir!

In this episode, I'm joined by the wonderful Heidi Mavir for a conversation that was originally meant to focus on the brilliant work she does through EOTAS Matters and The Marble Run. That was the plan, anyway. In true ADHD fashion, we took a wonderfully unexpected detour and found ourselves talking about queerness instead - which honestly could not be more perfect, given that this episode is being released during Pride Month! Fret not! I shall definitely endeavour to get Heidi back on the podcast again in the future because she really does do such awesome work for the neurodivergent community and she's brilliant to chat with! No Baking, All Chaos! With Heather AKA A Bit Of Baking & Chaos!

Heather is the cool, late-diagnosed, childfree millennial aunt you never knew you needed. She runs Bit of Baking and Chaos, sharing the lived experience of ADHD, from managing work and hormones to the everyday chaos of a brain that works a bit differently. Diagnosed in her thirties, she also creates practical resources for people looking for actual answers, not just awareness. I loved recording this episode. Even though it was the first time Heather and I had spoken in person I felt super relaxed with her and I think that really comes across in our chat. It's a sea of tangents and anecdotes. Spice Up Your Life! With Charlie From Neurospicy & Co!

Charlie is the founder of Neurospicy & Co., a clothing brand centred around neurodiversity and  disability awareness, and honest conversations about real life. As an autistic and ADHD mum of three (two of whom are also autistic, and one likely to be diagnosed with ADHD also), she share's the messy, unfiltered reality of parenting, burnout, and navigating a world not built for us. Through her content and her brand, she aims to make people feel seen, understood, and a little less alone, while also challenging the way society views neurodivergence. I had a great time chatting with Charlie. We talked all about our own experiences of discovering our neurodivergence and also Charlie's experience of being a mum to neurodivergent children, interactions with other parents of both neurodivergent and also neurotypical children and what it's been like starting her own brand of neuroaffirming clothing.
