Since 2019, I’ve been working as a freelance teacher, looking for ways to bring my classroom experience into podcasts that are educational, practical, and enjoyable. I have a PGCE in French and Spanish from Cambridge University, as well as a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language from Paris–La Sorbonne. Through my podcasts, my goal is to help learners make real progress in French — whether that’s through Cooking and Conversation, or my new podcast focused on spoken French and the new GCSE French speaking preparation for 2026.

    Quick French Speaking New GCSE: Read Aloud, Roleplay, Photo - episode 4

    Bonjour et bienvenue sur Lingogite podcast — a short, focused episode to help you practise French speaking for the new GCSE (AQA & Pearson Edexcel). In about 10 minutes you'll work through three tasks: a read-aloud with pronunciation tips, a leisure centre roleplay with useful phrases and questions, and a photo description. The episode includes model answers, spontaneous prompts, vocabulary and grammar notes to build accuracy, fluency and confidence for exam-style speaking tasks.   Task 1 - Read Aloud  INTERNET Je vais sur Internet tous les jours. Il est vraiment difficile de vivre et de travailler sans technologie. À mon avis, les portables sont utiles dans notre vie mais je sais qu’il faut être très prudent. Beaucoup de personnes ont des problèmes de harcèlement sur les réseaux sociaux, surtout les jeunes.   Task 2 - Role-Play You will need to answer with a sentence, not one-word answer. You are at a LEISURE CENTRE in France: 1) say what activity you want to do at the leisure centre 2) say how long you want to book it for 3) tell the employee what your plans are for this evening 4) ask a question about opening times 5) ask a question about payment   Task 3 - Photo You see a family of three cooking together. They are in a nice kitchen making a salad with peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes. They all seem to enjoy it, especially the child in the middle.     Bonjour et bienvenue sur Lingogite podcast — a short, focused episode to help you practise French speaking for GCSE (AQA & Pearson Edexcel). In about 10 minutes you'll work through three tasks: a read-aloud with pronunciation tips, a café roleplay with useful phrases and questions, and a photo description. The episode includes model answers, spontaneous prompts, vocabulary and grammar notes to build accuracy, fluency and confidence for exam-style speaking tasks.   TASK 1 - Read Aloud  MA VILLE Dans mon quartier, on peut faire beaucoup de choses. Moi, je vais souvent au centre commercial et à la piscine. Ma ville est célèbre pour ses bâtiments historiques et ses musées. Il y a trop de gens qui viennent ici et je pense que le tourisme est mauvais pour l’environnement.   TASK 2 - Role-Play You will need to answer with a sentence, not one-word answer. You are at a CAFÉ in France: 1) say what drink you want 2) ask the price of something on the menu 3) say what your favourite food is 4) say what activities you will do tomorrow 5) ask a question about the closing times of the café   Task 3 - Photo You see a coach (male) with a team of 5 girls wearing white football tops. It's simple, the more you listen and we practice together the 3 tasks, the more fluent and confident you will get. French Speaking New GCSE (2026) Higher - both AQA and EDEXCEL.      With every episode you can:  1 - read and listen to the Read Aloud task 2 - you can practise the Role-Play 3 - you can listen to the Photo Description    TASK 1 - Read Aloud  LA SANTE J’essaie d’être en bonne santé. Je mange beaucoup de fruits et de légumes et je bois de l’eau. J’évite de manger des frites et de la viande rouge car je pense que c’est malsain. (= unhealthy) Demain, mes amis vont manger dans un restaurant mais moi je vais à la piscine.   TASK 2 - Role-Play You will need to answer with a sentence, not one-word answer. At the TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE in France 1) say why you are at the tourist information office 2) say where you are staying 3) say what activities you will do tomorrow 4) ask a question about the town 5) ask a question about a recommendation for a restaurant   Task 3 - Photo You see a family of four sitting in the dining room with the kitchen in the background.
