Why Your Desk Job Is Quietly Killing Your Golf Swing

Stand up, put your feet together, and try to touch your toes. Can you do it? If you cannot get close, this episode explains exactly why your swing feels cramped, short, and stuck, and it probably has nothing to do with your technique. In this solo episode I break down the real reason most weekend golfers lose power and consistency. The modern golfer sits for eight, ten, even twelve hours a day, and the body is brilliant at adapting to what you ask of it. Ask it to sit all day and it gets very good at sitting: tight hips, a rounded upper back, and locked-up shoulders. Then you head to the course and ask that same body to make an athletic, full-range golf swing, and it fights you the whole way. I connect the dots between the desk and the tee, from how a short hip turn steals your backswing, to why a locked mid back kills your separation and coil, to how tight shoulders send you over the top and the ball sideways. None of that is a swing flaw. It is a body shaped by your week. But I also push back on the mobility hype, because it gets taken way too far. Mobility is the foundation, not the whole house. Touching your toes will not make you a great golfer on its own, but not being able to will absolutely cap how good you can get. I walk through why we always start with foundations, then build strength through that new range, and only then add speed and power. Your stiffness is not a character flaw and it is not permanent. It is a predictable result of how you spend your days, and your body will respond fast to the right work. Want to find out exactly what is locked up in your body?
