Jayne Goodsir - Reiki Redefined

Conversations on power, authority & ethics in energy work and Spiritual spaces, with perspectives that challenge mainstream narratives. That tension between feeling your soul calling in one direction, but what you've learned pulling you in the other, is a paradox many of us feel. This isn't about swapping one dogma for another, it's about returning to the source of power.

S5E18 – The Lost Language of Imagination & Creativity (with Kristen)

I feel it's fair to say imagination has quietly become one of the most misunderstood human capacities. Many of us were taught to leave it behind in childhood, trusting only what could be measured, explained or proven. Yet throughout history, imagination and creativity have helped people make meaning, cultivate wisdom and experience a relationship with something greater than themselves. In this conversation I'm joined by Spirit-led Pathway graduate Kristen to explore what changed when she stopped dismissing imagination as "just making things up" and began allowing it to become a doorway into deeper connection with Spirit. Together we explore creativity as spiritual practice, the grip of perfectionism and control, learning to trust direct experience, working with spiritual allies, and why the path isn't about abandoning logic but restoring balance between logic, intuition and Spirit-led wisdom. Perhaps the greatest invitation in this conversation isn't to become more imaginative - it's to give yourself permission to experience life more fully. This conversation isn't about learning a new technique. It's about remembering a way of relating to yourself, others & the world around you. By the end of this episode you'll discover: -Imagination as a way of perceiving rather than pretending -and why it has always been central to meaningful spiritual practice. -Creativity as a path into presence, helping quieten the analytical mind without rejecting it. -Perfectionism and control as protective strategies that can unintentionally keep us disconnected from our own intuitive knowing & direct Spirit-led connection. -Permission - not certainty - as the foundation of a Spirit-led path, allowing trust to develop through lived experience rather than external validation. -That your relationship with Spirit doesn't have to look like anyone else's; your own way of listening may be the very medicine you've been searching for. S5E17 - Performing to Belong (with Mary Jane)

Today's podcast is for anyone who has ever felt the tension trying to be authentic, and feeling authentic. Perhaps you've collected healing modalities, searched for the "right" teacher, or found yourself trying to fit into ways of practising that never quite felt like home. Perhaps you've wondered whether the parts of you that feel "too different", "too weird" or "too much" really have a place. In this episode, I'm joined by Spirit-led Reiki graduate Mary Jane for a heartfelt conversation about authenticity, belonging and the courage to stop shaping yourself to fit someone else's path. Together we explore the journey from wanting to be authentic to genuinely feeling authentic, what it means to trust your own relationship with Spirit, and how embracing your uniqueness can transform not only your healing, but the way you serve others. Five perspective shifts by the end of listening in: - Why collecting healing modalities can become a search for certainty - Authenticity as the by-product of trusting yourself, rather than fitting in -What if the frustration you've felt with inherited spiritual systems wasn't resistance - but discernment? -The qualities you've spent your life trying to hide may be the very qualities your medicine is asking you to embody. -The courage to be different isn't about standing apart from others; it's about allowing yourself to stand as you actually are. S5E16 - Neurodiversity, Chronic Illness & Aphantasia: Rethinking what Spiritual connection looks like (with Mhairi)

For years, I've noticed many spiritual spaces have quietly implied that there's a right way to connect with Spirit: see vivid visions, experience clear messages or follow someone else's method. But what happens if you're neurodivergent? Living withchronic illness? Or have aphantasia and don't visualise at all? In this conversation, I'm joined by Spirit-led Reiki Pathwaygraduate Mhairi to explore what actually happens when you stop trying to fit someone else's spiritual template. Together we discuss neurodiversity, chronic illness, aphantasia, embodiment, self-trust, labels, integrity and discovering that Spirit doesn't require everyone to perceive in the same way. Whether you experience guidance through knowing, emotion, sensation, movement or something entirely your own, this conversation is an invitation to trust your experience rather than compare it to someone else's. By the end of this episode you'll leave with... -Why neurodiversity, chronic illness and aphantasia don'tprevent a meaningful Spirit-led connection. -A different perspective on visualisation - and why itisn't the benchmark of Spirituality -The shift from searching for the 'right method' tobuilding genuine self-trust. -Why labels can become understanding without becomingidentity. -A deeper appreciation that there are countless valid wayshumans perceive, receive and relate to Spirit. One thing I especially loved about this conversation is thatit never becomes "overcoming neurodiversity." It becomes something much more interesting: The further Mhairi understood herself, the less sheneeded to become someone else in order to belong. S5E15 - Why doing it wrong is doing it right

You'll have likely heard it before: "There is no right way. Only your way." It's often one of the most repeated phrases in spirituality and energy work. But what happens when the very structures beneath that message make your own way impossible to find? In this episode, I explore spiritual ego, inherited systems, the hidden cost of external authority, and why so many practitioners find themselves caught between staying loyal to methods and that were never built from their own roots – despite being deeply intuitive. From 21-day Reiki cleanses and spiritual aesthetics to the fragmentation of the Sacred Triangle, this conversation examines how surface-level anything can quietly disconnect us from the truth of our own power. Most importantly, it explores why rejection isn't the destination. Reclamation is. By the end of this episode, you'll explore five perspective shifts: Why spiritual ego often appears as certainty around there being a "right way" to be spiritual, heal, or practise. How surface-level prescriptions create shame and self-doubt while bypassing the deeper causes of change. Why authenticity doesn't look like anything - and how spiritual aesthetics can become substitutes for genuine self-trust. How the fragmentation of the Sacred Triangle - Theory, Intuition, and Spiritual Wisdom - creates dependency on external authority and therefore disconnection Why rejecting inherited systems is a vital first step, but why the deeper invitation is reclamation Spirit-led Reiki Pathway: https://www.reikiredefined.com/spirit-led-reiki-pathway No cost community: https://www.reikiredefined.com/free-community/ UNDILUTED no cost weekly round up: https://reiki-redefined.kit.com/6629991732You'll find me most on Tiktok @reikiredefined

S5 E14 - The hidden cost of seeking permission as a spiritual pracitioner

What if the thing holding us as spiritual practitioners backisn't a lack of knowledge, training, or experience - but the unconscious habit of waiting for permission? In this episode, I explore the subtle ways permission-seeking disguises itself as learning, humility, responsibility, and"doing things properly." From my early days as a journalist to years spent navigating energy work, Reiki & other training spaces, spiritual communities, and business ownership, I share my observations & personal experience on how seeking certainty can quietly delay growth, dilute our medicine, andkeep us disconnected from our own spiritual authority. This isn't an episode about rejecting teachers or abandoninglearning. It's an invitation to examine where mainstream guidance ends and dependence begins - and what becomes possible when we stop waiting for someone else to tell us we're ready. 5 perspective shifts available by the end of this episode: -         Why permission seeking rarely looks like permission seeking -         Searching for certainty V self-trust -         The cost of waiting that isn’t always visible -         Guidance V dependence V mirrored support -         Spiritual authority as something assumed notbestowed upon Spirit-led Reiki Pathway: https://www.reikiredefined.com/spirit-led-reiki-pathway Free community: https://www.reikiredefined.com/free-community UNDILUTED weekly round up to your inbox: https://reiki-redefined.kit.com/6629991732 You'll find me most on Tiktok @reikiredefined

S5 E13 - The real reason practitioners fear their own power?

What if we’re not actually afraid of our power? Rather, what if we're afraid of the perception of what standing in our power might cost us? In this episode, I explore a pattern I’ve observed in myself, practitioners & mentors across the Spiritual & energy work space over a decade. Because perhaps the fear was never visibility. Or judgment Or authority Or even power itself .. as we have most often learned to relate to it. Perhaps the deeper fear is being misunderstood. Losing belonging. Outgrowing communities. Being seen without the ability to control what others can make that mean. This is a conversation about personal power, spiritualauthority, permission culture, authenticity, and the hidden stories many heart-led practitioners carry about leadership, service, humility, and influence. Not from the perspective of fixing yourself. But from the perspective of questioning whether we've beentrying to solve the wrong “problem” all along. If you've ever felt caught between staying safe and becomingmore fully yourself, this episode is for you. Because spirit-led power may have far less to do withbecoming someone new and far more to do with simply accepting who you’ve always been. Perspective shifts from today's conversation Power is not domination. Visibility is not the same as safety. Being misunderstood is not the same as being wrong. Humility is not self-erasure. Authority is not something granted by others. S5 E12 - Using Tarot as a mirror for heart-centered consciousness with Liz Dean

In this conversation with international tarot reader, author and teacher Liz Dean, we discuss moving from external authority (“what the cards tell me”) to internal sovereignty (“I am the expert of my own life”). This chat illuminates why vulnerability is power, reclaiming your connection to your own wisdom, and what becomes possible when you stop seeking answers outside yourself and start listening to the voice within. We explore how tarot can become a mirror for consciousness evolution rather than a tool for prediction. Liz shares how cards traditionally feared - the Devil, Death, Tower, and Hanged Man - are actually invitations to transformation and deeper knowing. Perfect for anyone ready to move beyond fear-based tarot and into heart-centered, consciousness-aligned knowing. Liz reads for me in this episode as I stand at the ever present edge of becoming – helping me to see what I already know to be true. FIVE THINGS YOU’LL DISCOVER BY THE END OF LSITENING IN: >> How “Scary” Tarot Cards Are Actually Invitations to Transformation The Devil isn't evil - Liz shares that it's about recognizing what agreements you're honoring. Death isn't statically about endings - it's about what wants to be reborn. The Tower isn't destruction - it's the collapse of false structures so truth can emerge. The Hanged Man isn't stalling - it's the gifts that await your willingness to see differently. These cards aren’t warnings but instead consciousness invitations. >>The Difference Between Prediction and Sovereignty Traditional tarot often reads: “The cards tell you what will happen.” Heart-centered tarot reads: “The cards help you see what's already true about yourself.” Liz teaches how moving from “What do the cards say about me?” to “What do I see about myself through the cards?” shifts you from victim of fate to author of your life. This is the difference between external authority and internal wisdom. >>Why Your Resistance to Tarot (Or Anything) Is Actually Intelligence If traditional tarot feels manipulative or fear-based, your body is telling you something true, IMO. That resistance isn't closed-mindedness - it's consciousness rejecting what doesn't serve evolution. Liz shares how to honor your own knowing rather than override it for someone else's interpretation. >>The Hermit's Real Teaching: Chosen Solitude as Sacred Space The Hermit isn't about isolation or loneliness - it's about knowing when to withdraw for what wants to emerge through you, Liz says. Whether it's shadow work, creative expression, or spiritual deepening, the Hermit teaches rhythm: when to engage, when to retreat, when to let the world in, and when to tend your own light. This card becomes a guide for honoring your cycles. >>Building a Life & Business from Purpose, Not Prediction Creating from authenticity. Understand why consciousness-aligned Spiritual business isn't about manipulation or scarcity tactics; it's about serving what wants to emerge and trusting resonance.
