    George A. Romero’s Lost Resident Evil & The Video Games’ Lore | Part 1

    For this episode, Diana and Audrey break down the origins of Resident Evil. They begin with Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Sweet Home, both the 1989 film and the Famicom game, which paved the way for the Shinji Mikami & Tokuro Fujiwara's development of the original Resident Evil. Next we take Diana’s 101 Resident Evil lore class, covering Lord Oswell E. Spencer, the Umbrella Corporation, the T-Virus, and the characters and plot of the first Resident Evil game. From there we move on to the big screen; we look at the early attempts to bring Resident Evil to film, including the Constantin Film rejected scripts, George A. Romero’s Biohazard: Resident Evil 2 trailer and his unmade Resident Evil screenplay. And maybe some Wesker and Chris shipping. To be continued...     Who needs Eli Roth when you have Clint Howard? For our first pick from the VHS Vault we're pulling Ice Cream Man (1995) off of our shelf. In the episode Audrey and Diana discuss the directors erotic origins, Clint Howard's method acting, scene selection and of course Small Paul bless his soul. As longtime fans of ARG and internet horror, Diana and Audrey examine the liminal space aesthetics and found-footage elements in Kane Parsons’ series in anticipation of the upcoming A24-produced 2026 film. They discuss the origins of liminal spaces online, provide a lore recap covering the ASYNC corporation and the nature of the Complex and break down the promotional campaign along with theories about the film adaptation.
