Talking is Therapy, and Listening is Power. Sharing real, vulnerable, and empowering conversations about life, growth and the human experience, to inspire you to lead with courage, embrace the chaos, and stop letting fear get in the way of living your dream life. The less alone we realise we are in the hard times, the more we see how capable we are of going after what we want, not when we’re ready or perfect, but right now. Listening shows us that the people living their dreams are human too: they have their own doubts, struggles, and setbacks, but keep moving anyway. IG @christinapengilly

#25 | Husband Q&A: Our Honest Views on Marriage, Money, Conflict & Roles

Thank you for being here! This week’s guest is officially my most requested guest EVER! My husband, Cruise 🤍 We asked you guys what you wanted to know and ended up chatting for an hour and a half of us talking about marriage, relationships, money, FIFO, family, roles within our marriage and pretty much everything in between. You guys see Cruise online, but you don’t often get to hear this side of him. He is genuinely one of the most grounded, hardworking and intentional people I know, and sitting down together like this brought out the best conversations. This episode isn’t us telling you how to have the perfect relationship, it’s just an honest conversation about what has worked for us, what we’ve had to learn along the way and what seven years together has taught us about choosing each other and continuing to grow together. We get into: How we navigated five years of FIFO and why we actually think it helped our relationship in the beginning How we divide responsibilities in our relationship without subscribing to strict “50/50” rules Combining finances, having different incomes and finding a system that actually works for your relationship Our approach to money, property and delaying gratification for the life we want later The sacrifices behind building a life that might look very different from the outside Why making big life decisions doesn’t have to feel so permanent and how we’ve approached moving, work and taking risks together How our values changed after meeting each other and growing together Why we don’t believe you need to have everything perfectly aligned from day one Getting engaged young and why that level of commitment changed the way we approached hard seasons Conflict, communication and learning to actually listen instead of immediately defending yourself Why the repair after an argument matters more than never arguing in the first place The conversations we think couples should have before marriage, especially around kids and what life looks like when things get hard Maintaining independence in a relationship and why your partner doesn’t need to be your entire world Making time for your own hobbies without making your partner feel like they come second Being a united front And of course sooo much more!!! I am very grateful to call this man my husband and very excited for you guys to get to know him a little better through this one 🤍 Go find Cruise over on IG & YouTube at @cruisetubegolf and @cruise_pengilly on IG! #24 | Shellee Rose - Breaking Generational Trauma & Building the Life She Was Never Given

Thank you for being here! This episode touches on addiction, trauma, grief and loss. If today isn't the day for this one, honour that. We are sending you so much love. 🤍 This is one of those episodes that I genuinely cannot put into words. My best friend Shellee joined me and what followed was just over an hour of the most raw, real and honest conversation I have ever had on Talk Therapy. Shellee grew up surrounded by heavy addiction, became the black sheep who got out, raised her brother, navigated Crohn's disease, went through things that would break most people and somehow built what she describes as her absolute dream life. Not despite all of it. Because of it. This episode is not about having it all figured out. It is about choosing to show up anyway. We get into: Growing up surrounded by addiction and becoming the one who got outBeing the only person in your family who escapes that cycle and the guilt that comes with itWhy Shellee believes her family's purpose was to give her her purposeCrohn's disease and how her body finally forced her to stop burying everythingThe difference between being a victim and staying a victimBuilding an image of success to avoid being seen as broken and when that stopped workingSecondary gain what you are actually getting from the pain you say you don't wantWhy fulfillment comes from the inside first and the things secondThe duality of carrying grief every day while still building a beautiful lifeAcceptance and forgiveness and why they are the keys to everythingThe part no one talks about the guilt of thriving when the people you love aren'tWhy both truths get to exist at the same timeWhat it means to give life a red hot crack and get to 85 with no regretYou will overcome the things you never thought you would and that becomes your evidence If you don't already follow Shellee go find her @shelleerose🤍 Tag me in your stories (@christinapengilly) & share this with someone who needs it 💌 📲 Instagram  🤳🏼 Personal YouTube  ❤️ Talk Therapy YouTube Episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays. #23 | The Real Reason You Never Follow Through

Thank you for being here! This episode is for anyone who has talked themselves out of something before they even tried, because someone else told them it was too hard, too risky or just not possible. Today I am going fully off the riff on something that I think about constantly and that I believe is one of the biggest things holding people back from the life they actually want. Other people's limitations are not your limitations. And the sooner you stop treating them like they are, the sooner everything changes. We get into: Why we blindly adopt other people's beliefs as our own - and how to stopThe podcast example - how I almost talked myself out of the best thing I've ever doneWhy someone else's truth is never the universal truthSecondary gain - what you are actually getting from the limitations you say you don't wantHow 90% of your decisions are made from your subconscious mind without you even knowingThe neck video that almost gave me an insecurity I never hadWhy your brain will always look for evidence to confirm what you already believeHow your actions (not other people's experiences) determine your realityReal examples of limitations people project onto you and what the actual truth isWhy hard things are not a sign to stop - they're a sign you're growingPoint the finger at yourself and why that actually gives you all the powerWhen someone says you can't, ask yourself "is this a fact or just their limitation?" I also get really honest about a season of my life where I adopted a belief that was never mine - and what it cost me until I figured out why I was holding onto it. This episode will make you want to go and do the thing you have been putting off. So consider this your sign. #22 | Riley May - Pain is Inevitable, Suffering is Optional.

Thank you for being here! This episode is for anyone who has ever looked at someone else's life and thought "they're so lucky" (Spoiler: they're not. They're just choosing differently than you are.)My gorg friend Riley May Dixon. one of the most quietly elite humans I know, joined me for what ended up being one of my favourite conversations on Talk Therapy yet. Riley is a brand new mum to the most beautiful little boy Mana, and this episode covers everything from eleven years of love, to cancer at seventeen, stepping away from business to fully becoming a mum, and why every single one of those decisions came from the same place. We get into:- Eleven years together - what it actually takes to love someone through every season- T being diagnosed with cancer six months into their relationship at fifteen and seventeen, and what that taught them about what a real problem actually is- Removing ego from every decision and following the path of least resistance- Stepping away from business in motherhood and why that was the most intentional thing she has ever done- Masculine and feminine energy in relationship, and why polarity changed everything for them- Why they have never been happier than they are right now with a newborn- Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional, and how Riley actually lives by this- The difference between luck and choices, and why what you see online is never the full story- How to contribute to your own suffering without even realising it- You sacrifice for the project, not for each other- The question everyone should ask themselves, if you couldn't post about it, would you have done it?- Trust is built through repetition and showing up when you don't want toThis episode will make you want to call your person, put your phone down and just be in your life.Go follow Riley @therileymay 🤍Tag me in your stories (@christinapengilly) & share this with someone who needs it!! 💌📲 Instagram🤳🏼 Personal YouTube❤️ Talk Therapy YouTubeEpisodes drop weekly on Wednesdays. #21 | How To Achieve Your Goals When NOTHING is Going To Plan

Thank you for being here! This episode is for the person who is doing EVERYTHING they said they would do and still feels like they are nowhere near where they want to be. The one who is questioning whether the goal is even possible anymore. It is. And this episode is going to remind you why. Today I am going fully off the riff and sharing my own journey - from finishing my psych degree and working in a cafe, to meal prep, protein balls, online coaching, GoodLife gym and everything in between - and why every single one of those pivots was not a step backwards. It was the thing that got me here. We get into: Why locking in on your goal but letting go of the path is the most powerful place you can operate fromThe difference between conviction and attachment - and why one gets you there and one blocks youWhy the decision that looks like you're going backwards is almost always the one that propels youHow to know when to pivot versus when to push throughWhy your brain will always try to talk you out of the decision that is about to change your lifeThe only two outcomes that exist - you win or you quitWhy nothing good ever comes from forceHow to find your why so deep that nothing can shake you off the pathWhy you can only ever connect the dots looking backwards - and what to do with thatI also share the reason behind every single decision I have ever made in my career - the one driving force I have always come back to, and why that has been the thing that kept me going even when it felt like I was failing. If you are in a season right now where nothing is going to plan, this one is for you. The plan was never the point. You are. As always I would love to hear from you. #19 | For My Dad 💌 Turning Pain to Purpose.

Thank you for being here 3 This episode is deeply personal and I'm grateful to be able to share it with you. This is not a polished episode. I cried about ten times and I hope it lands in that way you need it to. I came into this episode with two notes and a full heart and just let it go where it needed to go and I think that is exactly what I needed. This episode is for anyone who is navigating something really hard right now behind closed doors. Anyone who keeps showing up even on the days where they genuinely don't know if they can. And anyone who has ever wondered how to find meaning in the middle of the most painful chapter of their life. Today I am talking about something I have kept close to my chest for a long time. I share about my wonderful dad. About pain. About what it actually means to turn the hardest seasons of your life into something that gives you, and other people, a reason to keep going. We get into: What it means to turn your pain into purpose - and why it is one of the most powerful things you will ever doYou never know when the last time is going to be for anything - and why that changes everythingThe quiet difference between people who have been through something genuinely hard and those who haven'tWhy being strong is beautiful - and why I also wish I didn't have to beSharing your story online with grace - the difference between vulnerability and trauma dumpingWhy authenticity and realness will always create more connection than perfection ever willThe real types of hard in life - and how to stop avoiding the ones that actually matterWhy the people who get it just get it - and what that kind of connection feels like"Whilst I wouldn't wish my family's current season on anyone, I equally feel a sense of gratitude for the depths to which I see life as a result." You are not alone. And your pain is not wasted. 🤍 Tag me in your stories (@christinapengilly) & share this with someone who needs it today 💌 📲 Instagram🤳🏼 Personal YouTube❤️ Talk Therapy YouTube Episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays. #18 | Why You Feel Stuck Even Though You’re Always Busy

Thank you for being here ❤️ In this episode, I’m breaking down a truth that might feel confronting, but could also completely shift how you see your life right now: most people aren’t actually burnt out from being “too busy”… they’re burnt out from being unfulfilled. Because there’s a big difference between a full life that energises you… and a life that drains you, even when you’re not doing that much. And once you understand that difference, everything starts to make a lot more sense. We get into: Why burnout isn’t always about being busyThe real root cause of feeling exhausted and stuckWhy you can do “less” and still feel completely drainedThe difference between fulfillment vs obligationHow self-responsibility changes everythingWhy your mindset is shaping your reality more than your workloadSmall shifts that start bringing your energy back onlineI also talk about the uncomfortable truth around staying in things that no longer align with you - and how easy it is to normalise feeling flat, unmotivated, or disconnected and call it “just life.” If you’ve been feeling stuck, heavy, or like something just isn’t clicking anymore… this episode is going to give you a new way to look at what’s actually going on. As always, thank you for listening. It would mean the world if you shared this with someone who needs it or tagged me in your stories @christinapengilly 🩷 📲 Instagram  🤳🏼 Personal YouTube  ❤️ Talk Therapy YouTube Episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays.
