The Ripple Effect
Real stories. Small moments. Unexpected impact. We're surrounded by success stories — but what we usually see is only a snapshot- and the most visible part of someone’s journey. What we don’t often talk about are the small moments that triggered a chain of events that led them to be where- and who they are right now. That one decision, chance encounter, or unexpected situation that felt insignificant at the moment itself, yet which created an impact beyond what they ever expected. We invite our guests - artists, journalists, entrepreneurs, CEO’s, authors - to explore exactly these moments. What were the tiny moments that – on hindsight - changed everything? How did they overcome moments of doubt and insecurity? What were their biggest insights throughout their journey? This podcast shares stories and practical tips on how to carve out your own unique path, one small step at a time. The host is Lieke van Gompel, founder of The Ripple Effect. As a humanitarian and entrepreneur, she has been training over a thousand of people all over the world - in often challenging contexts such as Afghanistan, Ukraine and Yemen - in leadership and management. In her work, she noticed many people looking for that one big tool or framework that will solve all their challenges or help them realise their dreams. Yet she witnessed over and over again: when instead people focus on small steps and genuine connections, they create a ripple effect beyond what they ever had thought possible.
