    On today's Zero Limits Podcast host Matty Morris chats with Jacob Vella NSW Police Officer Stabbed in 2019 - Fitness Coach Born and raised in Sydney’s southwest, he joined the NSW Police Force in 2016, building a career in frontline and proactive crime units tackling high-risk offenders and organised activity. In June 2019, during an early morning arrest operation, he was critically injured in a violent stabbing while pursuing a suspect inside a darkened home. The attack left him with life-threatening injuries, extensive nerve and tendon damage, and a long road to recovery—at one point, his survival was in doubt. After more than a year of rehabilitation, he returned to full operational policing, resuming duties in the same high-pressure environment where he had been injured. Following years of service marked by frontline exposure, legal battles, and personal challenges, he stepped away from policing in 2024.     On the next episode of the Zero Limits Podcast, host Matty Morris chats with Mick Albrecht — former Infantry and Intelligence soldier turned comedian. Mick served in the Australian Army for 11 years. He began his military career as a reservist with 25/49 Royal Queensland Regiment in Brisbane before transferring to full-time service. He later served as a paratrooper with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, deploying to the Solomon Islands. Mick then transferred to the Intelligence Corps, where he deployed to Timor and later completed two deployments to Afghanistan as part of the Special Operations Task Group, supporting combat operations conducted by the SASR and the 2nd Commando Regiment. In recent years, Mick has turned to comedy and now regularly features at stand-up comedy events. He grew up in Queensland in a family with a strong military background and enlisted in the Australian Army as a teenager. After completing training, he was posted to 1RAR, serving as an infantry soldier before deploying to Somalia, where he experienced his first operational combat environment. Harry Discharged after the Somalia deployment and spent sa few years in civilian life before re-enlisting — this time as a cavalryman. He later deployed to Iraq, where he was injured by an VBIED attack on Australia Day 2005 in Baghdad. During his service, he was awarded a Commendation for Distinguished Service for the IED incident.     On todays Zero Limits Podcast host Matty Morris chats with Rob Mugridge 2nd Commando Regiment  Born in New Zealand and raised across Australia in a military family, Rob enlisted in the Australian Army at just 17. What followed was more than two decades of service across infantry, special operations, and instructional roles—spanning East Timor, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Starting in the Royal Australian Regiment, he deployed on multiple operations to Timor and a trip to Iraq before successfully completing selection and special forces reinforcement for the 2nd Commando Regiment, where he served as a sniper, assault team leader, TAG operator, and special forces advisor. During his service as a special forces operator he deployed on mulitple combat rotations to Afghanistan, a PSD rotation and also deploying to Iraq during the ISIS offensive.     Jemma Powell served 13 years with the NSW Police Force (2010–2024), graduating from the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn. Her first posting was to Central Hunter LAC, Maitland as a general duties constable. She then served at Central North LAC, Bourke and Central West LAC, Orange. Jemma responded to a wide range of complex frontline incidents—critical medicals, fatal incidents, missing-persons searches, serious crashes, search warrants and violent matters—developing resilience, sound operational judgment and decisive leadership under pressure. She was promoted to Senior Constable in 2016, served as Youth Liaison Officer in Bourke, and began relieving in a supervisory sergeant role in 2021. In June 2014 she took a year’s leave without pay to volunteer at a rural orphanage in Vietnam, caring for severely disabled and abandoned children—an experience she describes as both formative and profoundly meaningful. Jemma’s service record reflects extensive frontline operational experience, youth and community-focused work, and a commitment to welfare-led policing.
