034 -Your Posture is Talking: A Holistic Approach to Integrating Emotions with Raya Friesen

Raya Friesen is a holistic health practitioner and in this episode we sit down to explore the profound ways our bodies hold unprocessed emotion—and how this shapes everything from posture to pain, energy, and self-protection. We trace her journey from conventional physiotherapy into the creation of the Lumina Method, a unique whole-body approach that integrates stored emotional experiences with physical awareness and healing. Through years of clinical practice and deep listening to the body, she began to recognize patterns that traditional models often overlook: how the body adapts to protect us, how tension can become a story frozen in time, and how posture quietly reveals our emotional landscape. We unpack how posture reflects far more than biomechanics—it can offer insight into emotional patterns, organ health, energetic flow, and the ways we’ve learned to brace, guard, or hold ourselves in the world. We also explore the importance of feeling feelings rather than bypassing them, and how gentle, embodied awareness can support lasting change. This conversation invites a more compassionate relationship with the body—one that sees symptoms not as problems to fix, but as messengers asking to be felt, heard, and understood.
