EP228 Lorna, TTC, Fertility Journey, Two Pregnancies, C-section, Homebirth, VBAC

This week I share my chat with Lorna who shares each of her two birth stories. Lorna also brings us through trying to conceive (TTC) and seeing her first positive pregnancy test after so many investigations. We then talk through her pregnancy, care and the various interactions she had with health care professionals. At 40+ weeks Lorna did go into labour herself but the decision was made to bring her bay into the world through a c-section. Her little man greeted his parents with a huge roar giving his mam and dad the relief they needed. We then move onto her second pregnancy, a very different experience TTC from her first. This time Lorna decided she would opt for a VBAC at home with the support of PMI (Private Midwives Ireland) and her doula. There is so much in Lornas story for you to hear. I Gave My Cheating Husband A Second Chance… 10 Years Later I Regret It

She discovered her husband was having an affair, chose to forgive him and spent the next 10 years rebuilding their marriage… only to find herself right back where she started. This week, we hear from a woman questioning whether she wasted a decade after discovering the red flags had returned — and the receipts she eventually found left very little to the imagination. Now single at 50, she’s trying to stop blaming herself for staying and work out what comes next.  We also hear from a mum trapped in an increasingly controlling relationship who is terrified of how her partner will react to even the smallest decisions, discuss the reality of single parenting and not being able to be everywhere at once, reveal the ridiculously specific things our partners do that give us the ick, and answer a grandmother struggling with an ex-son-in-law who she believes is turning her grandchildren against her. Plus, possibly the worst use of a dog at Sunday lunch we’ve ever heard. Watch the podcast on YouTube Get a weekly BONUS episode on Patreon: Join Our Community Instagram TikTok Hosted on Acast. #347 - LUCRÈCE, MATERNAGE... INFERNAL

Add avocado oil and onion to pan2. Cook the onion until translucent and add the Italian sausage. Season however makes your heart happy3. Boil salted water for rigatoni- once boiled add rigatoni and cook al dente. You want it slightly firmer because it’ll cook in the meat sauce more.4. Once sausage is cooked add in garlic and tomato paste. Get the meat coated in the paste and then add in your grape tomatoes and broth. Cover and let simmer- your goal is to get the tomatoes covered in broth enough to burst them5. Chop your zucchini into quarters and add them to your meat sauce6. Once your tomatoes are soft/bursting you may need to help a few others and press in them with your cooking utensil. Add some more salt and pepper if you so desire7. I like to add about 1/3 cup of pasta water! Drain your pasta and then add it to the meat sauce. Stir a lot to incorporate everything!8. You can top this with any sort of cheese you like!Fruity pebble Rice Krispie treats:Here’s the issue… I eyeball just about everything but here are my tipsUSE SALTED BUTTER- roughly 2 TbsOG FRUITY PEBBLES ONLY CANNOT BE OFF BRANDMini mallows are easier to use than giant ones but get the big bag not the 10ozPut your mini mallows in a large microwave safe bowl with salted butter on top. Microwave in 30 sec intervals until boiling lava hot then eyeball your fruity pebbles. You do not want to add the suggested amount of cereal because they will not be ooey gooey they will turn out more dry. So maybe like a cup less. But add in desired cereal amount and stir. Then put em in a pan and push them down with parchment paper you’ve sprayed with oil. Do not press too hard because again… they’ll be hard! • Drinking habits as parents, children's books & when your toddler calls you by your first name...

Drinking habits as parents, children's books & when your toddler calls you by your first name...

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Wednesday!! We open with a very important announcement: it's REST DAY (Harrison’s rest day lol but maybe all of you could join him), which somehow spirals into a real debate: is "downhill" positive or negative?! (If you're running, downhill is great. If your week is going downhill…? you see the problem.) Then Jules brings a word from the people: collective effervescence.. the term for that shared-energy magic that happened at Wrigley (and at every Fenway “Sweet Caroline”, and every Coldplay "Fix You”). We're working it into daily (or bi-annual) rotation. Plus Alex reveals her special power: she wakes up in the middle of the night and just KNOWS what time it is (psychic or circadian? The chair delivery prediction says psychic), and we realize we are officially living in the "late 20s" of the century.. which sends us straight into Y2K pandemonium and what our 4-11-year-old brains thought was happening in 1999 hahaha Then the home front: the kids book gift tip we're stealing forever (find your kid's favorite book and keep copies on hand as gifts.. Going to Sleep on the Farm is out of print but on ThriftBooks for $6!!), the universal truth that when a toddler is awake they are AWAKE, and Tate's new bit: calling Alex.. Alex. She thinks it's hilarious. Then a segment your comments built: cities have MIDDLE names?! Chicago Marie. Cincinnati Eileen. Atlanta Nicole. We're solidifying Austin Riley.. comment your city's middle name, we need them all. And another follow up from the video game convo: where does drinking after work fall on the scale?! We get into it honestly AND share our rule for drinking as new parents: one parent is ALWAYS the metaphorical DD. Meaning one of us is ALWAYS sober enough to legally drive.. because you're on duty for the kids, and in an emergency you might literally need to drive. Simple, non-negotiable, works. And in wedding world: 818 Tequila is sponsoring weddings (no contracts, no posting requirements, just vibes.. genius or too far?), and OUR wedding planning continues: it's officially a seated dinner, and Harrison's dream late-night sponsor is DoorDash hahaha We close with the lightning round of internet topics: Dyson made a $499 TOOTHBRUSH (we started at sticker shock and talked ourselves into it.. if it touches your body twice a day!), gym bros discovered the pink tax, a new app that sends your texts by virtual carrier pigeon (110mph, and a 0.2% chance your message literally dies mid-flight.. we're obsessed), and a closing pep talk: we all need to TOUGHEN UP. A cup of coffee cannot ruin your day!! Hope everyone is having a great week :-) LOVE YOU GUYS! Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:00:01 It’s rest day!! (Lol) 00:05:35 Is "downhill" positive or negative?! 00:06:24 “Collective effervescence” - the word for what happened at Wrigley 00:11:26 Knowing the exact time when waking up - psychic or circadian? 00:17:09 We're now living in the “late 20s”?!
