    Why Liking Dave Chappelle’s Comedy Doesn’t Make Me Anti-Trans

    I woke up this morning greeted by vicious DMs accusing me of “not caring about the trans community” because I like Dave Chappelle. And I’m here to explain why this is complete b******t. I go over many topics, including: a performance vs. a person, the flaws of humanity, anger vs. laughter (& how laughing makes you healthier), and how it is your ultimate responsibility to love yourself and find a way to be happy. It’s no one else’s fault if you’re unhappy with yourself. Everyone faces hate and judgement, so you must TRY to be happy. Loving yourself creates confidence. And confidence allows you to hear other people’s opinions without becoming malevolent. That’s all I want for you… happiness and confidence. Thanks for listening! Cheers.

We’re constantly being pulled in different directions and being told to like or dislike certain things. But the truth is, how you feel is up to YOU. Not your friends, not your family - you. It’s up to you to discover who you are and how you wish to express yourself. Don’t lose your sense of self trying to please others. Put yourself first and enjoy your life.     Disconnected

    Hello! Welcome back to Down The Rabbit Hole. In this episode, I explain how I feel about social media. Many people feel connected to others when they post online, but it makes me feel more DISCONNECTED. Nothing will ever replace face-to-face conversations or a hug after missing someone for a while. THOSE things make me feel connected. Social media can be fun, but I prefer to be in nature, with people I love, or learning something new. I’m genuinely curious as to how YOU feel about social media. It’s such a big part of our world so it’s good for us to think about it and question it. Thanks for tuning in. Stay curious.

    The Mirror Trap

    Ever notice how there are mirrors everywhere in public? Mirrors and... advertisements of gorgeous models? This isn’t a coincidence. Corporations WANT you to compare yourself to these models. Corporations want you to feel like you have to spend money in order to look like these models. And this is just ridiculous. First of all, our souls matter more than our physical appearance. Second of all, these seemingly perfect models have undergone HOURS of hair, makeup, photoshop and sometimes surgery in order to look a certain way. Please don’t be swayed by this pathetic attempt to induce self-hate. You are beautiful. And you are special. Once you realize this, everything will change.     How Labels Are Dividing Us

    We hear labels every day. “I’m a vegan. I’m a liberal. You’re crazy. You’re old-fashioned.” While labels can be helpful to some degree, they become destructive when we treat people poorly BECAUSE of the label we’ve given them. We often label people in an attempt to justify why we mistreat them. We see people as their label instead of seeing them as people. We’ve forgotten to communicate in hopes of UNDERSTANDING other human beings, and instead we communicate just to RESPOND. This is toxic. This will lead to hate, which leads to danger and death. If we do not become responsible for the way we interact with and treat others, we will (subconsciously, perhaps) add more hate to this world. And right now, all we need is love. Please, don’t let these labels divide us. We’re only human and we desperately need to connect with each other.

    Kant Stop Me Now

    Hi! Welcome to Down The Rabbit Hole. In this episode, I dive deep into the life of German philosopher Immanuel Kant. (It’s his birthday, btw!) Kant wanted to discover how humans could be KIND and GOOD outside of strict, traditional religion. While he wasn’t religious himself, he respected religion as he’d seen it help his parents through turmoil and hardships. He knew that humans were prone to corruption, which is why he challenged people to use their intellect to govern their lives. This was HUGE, especially during the 17th century! Although Kant defined his time by its growing secularism, he also appreciated the importance of ethical behavior in religion. He sought to extract the goal of ethical behavior and implement it into daily life in a logical manner. Kant is basically the founder of the whole “treat others how you want to be treated” rule. I hope you enjoy learning about the life and teachings of Immanuel Kant.
