    Dave Wasserman Explains the Redistricting "Doomloop"

    Today on the Roundtable: a subject that is very near and dear to Dave Wasserman's heart - The Cook Partisan Voter Index, or PVI. We just released a new report that looks at the 10 states that redistricted this year and what that means for the Cook PVI and partisanship in the country as a whole. As Dave writes for The Cook Political Report: "The median House seat now sports a Cook PVI score of R+3, two points redder than prior to this cycle's gerrymandering arms race — making it exceedingly difficult for Democrats to win the House in anything other than a favorable political environment. In other words, even if Democrats do take back the House majority in 2026, they will be under increased pressure to retaliate in the states they control to keep it in 2028." It's pretty wonky stuff but Dave, of course, does an amazing job of explaining it.
