How Snowflake is modernising data foundations

In this episode, Manisha Tank sits down with Jon Robertson, President, APJ at Snowflake and Duncan Eadie, Cloud Infrastructure and Engineering Lead at Accenture, APAC and LATAM. Throughout this podcast series, we’ve explored how organisations have transformed their entire enterprise and industries, and seized opportunities by embracing new technologies and the power of data and AI. However, many are struggling to unlock the true value of their enterprise data, from using real-time data to tracing their data. Deriving the desired business value from data requires the data foundation to be modernised—enabling data to be broken out of legacy silos so it can be unified in the cloud and processed with analytical tools. In this conversation, we find out what the real value of data is really worth and why organisations need to break their data free. We also look at Snowflake and Accenture's partnership, and how they are helping enterprises build modern data platforms in order to accelerate their enterprise readiness for burgeoning technologies such as large language models and generative AI. We learn that there's no AI strategy without a data strategy, and there's no data strategy without a cloud strategy. We discover the importance of a cloud-based modern data platform that's secure, scalable, high-performing and elastic, how data is democratised this way, and how opportunities are created. Finally, we hear from both speakers on how enterprises can ensure that their data is poised to activate more advanced, generative AI. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Reinventing Customer and Colleague Experiences with Generative AI

In this episode, Manisha Tank is joined by Dr Shantanu Bhattacharya, Chief Technologist for Data and Analytics at the NatWest Group, and Ujjwal Jyoti, Managing Director at Accenture Financial Services, India. We discover how digitalisation has transformed the banking industry, from simplifying products and services to building recommendation engines. We also hear from Dr Bhattacharya on building a customer database and coming up with a Next-best Action (NBA) strategy. Using key statistics extracted from Accenture's Global Banking Consumer Study, we find out why banks need to put back the human touch into banking in the next few years, and how ironically, the power of AI—as well as other new frontier technologies like the metaverse and NFTs—is going to help achieve this goal. Ujjwal also gives us the answer to a question we've all been asking ourselves: will new technologies like generative AI lead to a loss in job opportunities? Lastly, Dr Bhattacharya gives some advice on how companies can navigate their digital transformation journeys, particularly in crafting simplified customer and employee experiences. Building a Sustainable and Productive World of Manufacturing

In this episode, Manisha Tank sits down with Vikram Handa, Managing Director of Epsilon Carbon, and Vinay Shenoy, Managing Director of Industry X, Accenture in India. We find out how a global leader in the carbon black and coal tar derivatives industry is adopting data and digital technology as they take on the formidable challenge of net zero transition while maintaining and improving productivity in a weak economic climate. Vikram shares how Epsilon Carbon's journey began, what wasn't working, and how an Accenture Innovation Hub workshop where he and his employees could see what other companies were doing and what they could learn was pivotal in adjusting their strategy. Vinay also talks about how Accenture worked alongside Epsilon Carbon to identify problems and co-create meaningful, step by step solutions. But having employee buy-in is key to making it all happen. With Vikram's commitment to the cause, Vinay discusses change management at an idea's inception from a bottom up perspective and why involving every single person in the organisation in the process was the most important ingredient. Strengthening Reef Conservation Through Data and AI

In this episode, Manisha Tank speaks to Dr Manuel Gonzalez Rivero, Research Team Leader at the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), and Romain Groleau, Managing Director and ANZ Technology Sustainability Lead at Accenture. Together, we explore how to capitalise on sustainable technology to fast track and upscale coral reef monitoring, how various technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and analytics—will have a key role to play in reducing carbon emissions, and how Accenture’s sustainable technology initiatives are making a positive environmental impact in the Asia-Pacific region. We shine a light on how coral reefs—the rainforests of the sea—are ecologically diverse, structurally complex and critically endangered. Taking a deep dive into AIMS' work, we learn from Dr Rivero how the institute has been collaborating with Accenture, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), coral reef scientists, conservation practitioners, technology experts and people from all around the world to improve reef conservation using a groundbreaking open access tool called ReefCloud. Romain also shares how the conservation community can scale the technology across other ecosystems, demonstrating the unlimited potential of technology, design and expert knowledge to transform how we solve the world’s greatest challenges.
