It’s Sunday morning, we are propped up on pillows, sipping the first coffee of the day and have just realised that we have been granted a privilege that not many parents get - to view the world through their child’s eyes, to time-travel. You weren’t the only one who thought starting secondary school would be the panacea to all the trouble you’d had in primary school. The thing is though, you bring yourself with you wherever you go. It wasn’t until university that you came into your own, because it encouraged your independent thinking. Perception is mad sometimes. You perceived the world as a place where you had to work twice as hard to be half as good as everyone else, where we perceived it as a place where you were good at everything you ever tried. We had no idea how you viewed the world and your place in it. Scripts. Over the past 30 years you have taught us that in every script, what’s written between the lines is more important than the lines themselves. Ours as well as yours. Peace and love, Mam & Dad.
