6 - Let Sleeping Dames Lie

Many people love the story of Sleeping Beauty, but most don't know about its slightly disturbing origins. Where did Sleeping Beauty originate, and what caused the changes in the tale? Are spinning wheels as dangerous as these tales would have you believe? Is Charles Perrault's version the best one? Spoiler alert: It is. Find the answers to these questions and more, only on this episode of Funklore. (Content Warning: Non-graphic depictions of rape. 5 - The Secret to Sixcess

Ever wish you had super powers? Or at least had friends who had superpowers? Well, here’s your chance to live vicariously through the people in today’s tales! You thought the Avengers and the Justice League were the first stories of superhero team-ups? Nope! Hundreds of years earlier, we had the tales of the Six Servants, How Six Men Made Their Way in the World, and Long, Broad, and Sharpsight. Use your super hearing and your incredible imagination as you enjoy this episode of Funklore. 4 - Old Rinkrank

Glass is beautiful. It's been used to build a lot of things. Ever seen stained glass windows? Those things are super neato. But most people would never think to build a mountain out of glass, and anyone who may have had that passing thought likely dismissed it just as quickly as it arrived. That apparently was not the case back in the olden times, when a glass mountain sounded like a phenomenal premise for a story. And I'm glad it did, otherwise we never would have been blessed with the strange and disturbing tale of Old Rinkrank. Have a laugh today, and when you tuck your children into bed tonight, warn them of the dangers of Old Rinkrank after today's episode of Funklore. 3 - A Rumpel By Any Other Stiltskin

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” While Juliet may have meant this line in a more metaphorical, why-couldn’t-you-be-anything-other-than-a-Montague type of way, it takes on a bit more literal meaning when we start talking about Rumpelstiltskin and his baby-stealing antics. Come with me and learn what IS in a name, especially a strange name like Rumpy’s, in this week’s wisdom and whimsy-filled episode of Funklore. 2 - Targeted Catvertising 101

Are you a cat lover? Well, whether the answer to that question is yes or no, this story is for you! Come along as I relay the tale of the “Three Sons of Fortune'' and their miraculous (and frankly, ridiculous) methods of making money, and then smile at the heartwarming English tale of Dick Whittington and his cat. So let’s hear some unofficial infomercials, fire a cannon into a cornfield, and find out exactly what makes cats so dangerous to small island kingdoms, only in this week’s episode of Funklore.
