Does Ireland need a Minister for Women’s Health?

Does Ireland need a Minister for Women’s Health?

Rushed, unsupported and unheard are some women’s experiences of the healthcare service as recorded in a new report. With maternity restrictions still in place and exclusion zones as yet absent, is it fair to say that women’s health is not taken seriously in this country? Is it time, as advocate Vicky Phelan has suggested, that Ireland appoint a Minister for Women’s Health? To discuss this further we spoke to Jennifer Whitmore Social Democrat TD.

Can few extra hours in bed over the weekend prevent depression?

“Don’t wake me up before you go-go”. We all know and appreciate the pleasures of weekend lie-ins. Turns out that an extra hour on Saturday or Sunday spent in bed might have a surprisingly good impact on our health, helping to fight depression.  That’s according to the latest study published in the journal “Sleep Medicine”.  Are you using your weekends to catch up on sleep – is it really a good idea? We asked Deirdre McSwiney - Sleep Technologist and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist for Insomnia, who spoke to us this morning.

On the record

Why is the podcast of On The Record with Gavan Reilly not available on apple podcast? It used to be available when Chris or Kieran presented it.

Ciara needs to go

Pushing an experimental injection on pregnant women is downright irresponsible. Ciara Kelly should tread very carefully giving advice on a “vaccine” that is still very much in the trial phase. It may just come back to haunt her. I’ve lost all respect for Newstalk since the pandemic and the departure of Ivan Yates. There is no balance to be found on any of the shows, just pandering to the government and pharma companies. Luke O’Neill should declare his conflicts of interests before every show. Nobody asking the hard questions. Once an avid listener, I’m afraid I’ve now tuned out.

Dreadful

Ciara unfortunately hasn’t got the likeable factor consistently promoting toxic feminism at a cost of putting down men and its delivered with this fake mid Atlantic accent.
