    Forgive and Forget - Ephesians 4

    This message tackles another phrase that gets thrown around when things get messy: “Forgive and forget.” It sounds spiritual, but it can feel impossible when the memory is still there—betrayal, abandonment, humiliation, deep wounds that don’t just disappear. From Ephesians 4:31–32, we see that God never calls us to pretend it didn’t happen. Forgiveness in Scripture is release, not erasing—it’s choosing to put bitterness down so the wound stops poisoning your present, even if you still remember what happened. You’ll hear a clear, freeing framework: forgiveness doesn’t mean instant trust, and it doesn’t require you to remove wise boundaries. Forgiveness is rooted in God’s grace—“forgive as the Lord forgave you”—and sometimes it’s a decision you have to make more than once as your heart heals. The goal isn’t spiritual amnesia; the goal is freedom: letting God handle justice, guarding your heart with wisdom, and walking lighter because the offense doesn’t get to rule you anymore.

    In this message, we tackle one of the most repeated phrases Christians say in hard seasons: “God will never give you more than you can handle.” It sounds encouraging—but when you’re overwhelmed, anxious, and barely holding it together, it can feel like a burden instead of comfort. Scripture shows something different: God never promised life would stay manageable. In fact, even Paul admitted he was “burdened beyond measure” (2 Corinthians 1), and God used that moment to shift his trust off himself and onto the God who raises the dead. The hope isn’t that you’ll be strong enough—it’s that God’s grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12). This message calls us to stop living like we were meant to carry everything alone and start leaning into the kind of faith that says, “Lord, this is too much for me… but it’s not too much for You.” Life may give you more than you can handle, but it will never give you more than God can handle—and that changes everything.

This message gives three clear invitations for the week: step out in the next act of obedience God is calling you to, fix your eyes on Jesus through habits and community, and when fear wins a moment, cry out—don’t sink silently.

This message invites us to stop blending in and start loving in a way that makes people ask, “Why?”
