As temperatures rose on the opening day of the show the order books were also hotting up with Boeing firmly in the spotlight as a substantial series of orders saw the manufacturer all but dominate across a series of deals. Sun Express, a German Turkish airline exclusively operating Boeing types, kicked off proceedings with an order for 28 737-8 and 17 737-10 aircraft with an option for up to 45 additional Max variants.
