Brave Little Things

Bravery isn’t always about facing your fears head-on or accomplishing the impossible. Sometimes, being brave means knowing when to quit, deciding you’re already whole and enough, or choosing not to do the so-called “brave thing” simply because it’s not what you want. Brave Little Things is about redefining what it means to show up courageously in life and business, taking small, sustainable steps that help us feel more at home in ourselves. Through raw storytelling, diverse insights, practical tools, and real-life practices, we’ll explore all the ways bravery shows up in everyday moments. Most importantly, you’ll feel held as we navigate these conversations together. Because if there’s one thing I know about building a brave, full life, it’s that doing it together makes it so much easier. What does it mean to choose a brave life—slowly, intentionally, and on your terms? Let’s go there.

Playing to win VS. Playing not to lose

This week, we’re talking about the difference between playing to win and playing not to lose—in our businesses, our relationships, our bodies, and really, our lives. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately as my son starts his first weeks in the army, watching what it looks like to truly go all in for something you want. Because playing to win means putting failure on the table. You might miss the shot. You might fall flat on your face. But when we spend all our energy protecting ourselves from losing, we also protect ourselves from the possibility of really fucking winning. I’m sharing where I see this showing up in my own life, what a very defensive World Cup game taught me about how boring it is to spend the whole game protecting the goal, and how I see entrepreneurs creating perfectly good, perfectly beige content while holding back the very things that could bring their people closer. This isn’t about hustling harder, sharing every private detail of your life, or winning at all costs. It’s about asking yourself one really important question: Where am I technically in the game—but still playing it safe? And what might happen if you finally took the shot? And if you know you’re ready to stop holding back in your business and want some support actually doing that, SEEN is my three-session private coaching package where we work together on exactly this—helping you express yourself more honestly, show up more confidently, and let the right people actually meet the real you. When Good Advice Is Bad Advice

There is SO much advice out there about how to build your business, market yourself, grow your audience, get clients, create content — and a whole lot of people telling you, “This is what works.” But just because something works doesn’t mean it works for you. In this episode, I’m starting with a conversation I had with my son on one of our long walks together right before he left for the army — about advice someone had given him and the pressure he felt to have followed it “better.” It got me thinking about all the advice I was given when my kids were little, why some of it made me feel worse instead of better, and how freaking often we do the exact same thing in our businesses. We’re talking about why we’re so drawn to someone handing us a blueprint, the difference between learning from other people and copying the way they built their business, trends and pain-point marketing, and why all of this matters even MORE in a world where AI can create perfectly good, perfectly polished, perfectly same-sounding content in seconds. Because you can learn the strategies. You can try the trends. You can listen to really smart people and take their advice. But at the end of the day, you still have to ask: Does this plug me back into myself or pull me further away? And I’m also sharing a little about SEEN, my private 1:1 coaching package — three sessions together over six weeks where we work on exactly this: finding your words, your ideas, the way you want to show up, and creating a way of sharing and marketing your work that feels alive, connected, and actually like you.
