"Are they really running the Show?" | Momo Teitelbaum - ShmueliCast Ep. 67

"In this episode, we sit down with Momo Teitelbaum — not the typical guy you meet every day.We start off with his move from the city to Lakewood, and that naturally opens up a bigger conversation about what people are really chasing — the pace of city life, the constant complaints, and how different environments shape the way people think. From there, the conversation moves into the music world — not just on the surface, but what it actually looks like behind it. What singers are really earning, how the business works, and how it compares to a regular, full-time path.We go deeper into the video side of things as well — the behind-the-scenes reality of productions, what makes something actually work, and the kind of thinking that goes into creating music videos that people connect to.Later on, we touch on DJ music and how it found its place, along with the different reactions around it — and how all of this ties back into the way the industry has been shifting. It’s a laid-back conversation with a lot of energy — moving between real-life topics, industry insights, and moments that are just fun to listen to.""And as always feel free to share your feedback, we’d love to hear your thoughts and comments. "Can we Point fingers?" Monsey Fire Department | J6 Eyewitness | Yanky Fliegman - ShmueliCast Ep. 65

This week on ShmueliCast, we sat down for a direct, open conversation with Yanky Fliegman, Fire Commissioner of the Monsey Fire Department. We began by speaking about his personal experience being present in Washington, D.C. on January 6th. Yanky shared what it was like to be there in real time — the atmosphere, the emotions, and how the day unfolded from his vantage point. Hearing the experience from someone who was physically there offers a different perspective — one that sheds light on details and impressions people may not have been exposed to until now, including how he recalls President Trump’s speech as it was delivered live, in the moment. From there, we transitioned into his role as Fire Commissioner — the responsibility it carries and the realities of serving the community. We also addressed some of the ongoing discussions surrounding fire response efforts in the area, including the dynamics between different volunteer groups. The topic was handled thoughtfully, allowing concerns and viewpoints to be expressed without taking sides or placing judgment. As always, ShmueliCast is about sitting down, hearing people out, and giving our audience the space to listen and form their own understanding. It Almost Went Wrong…" From last Minute Backup - to Center Stage | Chaim Brown - ShmueliCast Ep. 64

This week we sat down for a real uplifting, high-energy episode with Chaim Brown — well-known actor and singer — for an open, honest conversation about his journey on both the music and acting side.We spoke about how his singing started back in his teenage years in Yeshiva, and how music became one of his first ways to express emotion and connect to people. From there we got into his acting career — what makes someone a great actor, what it really means to step into a role, and why he believes real acting isn’t about acting at all… it’s about vulnerability. Being able to open yourself up and give something real.He shared a wild story about how he once came into a production as a last-minute backup after an actor dropped out — with barely any time to prepare — and how that unexpected situation ended up turning into him becoming the main actor on stage. We also spoke about the emotional contrast between singing at heartwarming chuppahs and performing in deep acting scenes — and why acting is the place where he feels he gives the most of himself emotionally.A real, down-to-earth conversation about talent, opportunity, and how sometimes the moments you didn’t plan… end up putting you exactly where you’re meant to be."And as always feel free to share your feedback, we’d love to hear your thoughts and comments. ShmueliCast Ep. 62: Is Jewish Music Entering a New Era? | Tzvi Blumenfeld

"In this week’s episode, we sit down for a natural, open conversation with Tzvi Blumenfeld — a legend in the heimish music industry and one of the most respected bandleaders in Jewish music. As the leader of Freilich, Tzvi has played a major role in shaping the sound of weddings and large-scale Jewish events. We cover a wide range of topics, including the major shift we’ve seen over the last few years in Jewish music — moving from long, complex, and heavily arranged tracks to shorter, lighter, and more accessible songs, often built around clear messages that people connect to. Tzvi shares his perspective on why this shift is happening and where he sees Jewish music heading. He also breaks down the real process of preparing a full music band for weddings and major events, shares practical tips for beginners entering the industry, and explains the key differences between Chassidish and Litvish weddings.Along the way, we get into the behind-the-scenes realities and some of the lesser-known secrets of the industry — from working with different types of musicians and singers to what really happens offstage. Tzvi also shares interesting stories from his career and explains how he handles situations when things go wrong, both live and in production.""And as always feel free to share your feedback💌, we’d love to hear your thoughts and comments. ShmueliCast Ep. 61: Is Therapy an endless Cycle? Mind behind the Heart | Dr. Yossi Twersky

This week on ShmueliCast🎙️, we sit down with Dr. Yossi Twersky — psychiatrist and mental health expert — for a calm, grounded conversation about mental health, therapy, and how people actually deal with inner struggles today. We speak honestly about the growing focus on mental health and the doubts many people have about whether today’s approaches truly address real human needs. We discuss how previous generations handled emotional challenges without the systems and language used today, and what has shifted in the way people understand themselves and their struggles.Dr. Twersky also shares about his upbringing as a Rebbishe Einikel, and how that background shaped his perspective on life, responsibility, and emotional strength. From there, we explore why so many people today struggle internally, what may have contributed to this shift, and how trauma has shaped the Jewish experience across generations. We also speak openly about trauma — where it comes from, how it affects a person long-term, and whether someone can truly heal or only learn how to live with it. The conversation touches on the rise in suicide, why this has become more present in modern times, and what may be missing in how people are taught to face life’s difficulties."And as always feel free to share your feedback💌, we’d love to hear your thoughts and comments.
