When we understand how the child’s brain develops we can understand then why tantrums and big emotions happen and how to regulate those emotions. Part of positive or empowering parenting really focuses on the parent whereas , in order to learn how to regulate a child’s emotions, the parent must first learn how to regulate and process their own emotions, triggers and past experiences that seem to come up when trying to parent their child.
