    BIM is not a career switch. It's a career upgrade.

    In this episode, Puneet challenges a common misconception among architecture students and fresh graduates: the idea that learning BIM means switching careers. Instead, he reframes BIM as a career upgrade for architects. Architecture remains the foundation; BIM simply makes architects more efficient, capable, and relevant for the future of the industry. The episode explains that BIM is not just about learning software like Revit. Revit is only one tool within the larger BIM process, just like a knife is one tool in cooking. True BIM learning is about understanding how projects are designed, coordinated, documented, delivered, and managed through a smarter workflow. Puneet also highlights a major industry problem: many firms treat BIM as a separate layer added after the design is complete. This limits the real value of BIM.     Should Architecture Students Do a Master's Degree? The Honest Answer Nobody Gives You

    If you've just graduated in architecture, someone has probably told you: do your Master's now, because if you don't, the door closes forever. It's not true. In this short, honest episode, Puneet Thakre — architect and founder of Polygon — speaks from the other side of that advice. After 8 years of working, teaching, and talking to hundreds of students, he's noticed something: very few people who want a Master's actually have clarity on why they're doing it. Most do it because they think it automatically means better opportunities, or because studying abroad simply sounds good. None of those are real reasons.
