We are Patrick & Laura (& Redford), Living in a 192 sq. foot Tiny House on Wheels since 2016. This is the story of how we downsized from our 1,400 sq foot condo to living the (sort of) minimalist lifestyle. Our goals were to create more financial freedom, to live a more sustainable lifestyle, to make our health a priority and to make more time for travel and outdoor activity. We love camping, backpacking, hiking and kayaking. In 2019 we purchased a 16 foot Scamp Travel Trailer to travel and scout out a piece of property where we can homestead in the future. Lets make it happen!

    This episode is part 2 in the story leading up to our transition into the tiny house movement. We signed the contract to start the build in January 2016 with our Builder: Titan Tiny Homes of Chicago. From then until it was delivered on April 19th we had a lot to prepare for...including figuring out where we were going to park it long term. Once we had our spot and the house rolled in then the REAL work began- we spent several weeks finishing the interior and getting ready to move from our 1,400 sq foot condo to our 192 sq foot Tiny House on Wheels :) We are just a normal couple living a rather unusual lifestyle in a Tiny House on Wheels (192 square feet) trying to fit more adventure, travel and exploration into our lives! We love to go camping, hiking, backpacking, kayaking…and traveling with our 16 foot Scamp Trailer. We have an awesome Adventure dog named Redford that is up for anything. It started back in 2010 when I first saw a Tiny House picture on Pintrest and watched some YouTube videos & I knew that a tiny house was for me! Then started the process of planning, saving and overcoming some major setbacks to finally make it happen.     In the Summer of 2020 we could not travel due to restrictions with work...but our cute little 16' Fiberglass Scamp camper was ready to go, we had just finished an interior update and cleaned/waxed the exterior and she looked great- so we decided to put it up for RENT on RVShare.com. We did a total of 4 rentals over about 5 months and we learned a lot in the process.
