    Charlie- fear-relapse-steps-sobriety-giving it away!

    Today on the podcast, we welcomed Charlie and heard an incredible story of resilience, struggle, and hope. Charlie shared how his journey with alcohol began at just 14, chasing the feeling it gave him, and how life took unexpected turns—including becoming legally blind at 17 while still pushing forward to start multiple businesses. His path hasn’t been linear. Through relapses and hard lessons, Charlie found a turning point by fully embracing the program—getting a sponsor, working the steps, and giving back to others in recovery. This episode is a powerful reminder that sobriety isn’t a straight line, but through AA and connection, it can become a stepping stone to real happiness.

    Eric K., Living life using AA’s 12 steps.

    Eric shares with us “mess” and some of the consequences of his drinking. He quickly gets into his sobriety. Eric came into the rooms the first time at 22 and back when he was 25. At that time he was joined in the rooms by his wife. Working in the AA 12 steps and creating a fellowship has allowed Eric to have all the promises come true.. Eric is a busy dad just finished his doctorate program and his coaching his sons and new sports. He shares how he uses AA’s 12 steps through his daily life and his words and his actions. Eric reminds us that sometimes we just need to do the footwork and the God direct where we end up.

Devon’s part of the Northeast Convention Young People A.A., and he shared an honest, relatable story about starting to drink in high school and finding recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous. He also opened up about relapse, getting back up again, and how staying involved in service work has been a huge part of maintaining his sobriety. One of the best parts of this episode is hearing Devon’s genuine enthusiasm for service—how it’s not just kept him sober, but helped him grow as a person. A high school athlete with drive and determination, he went on to build a successful business of his own. But behind the success, years of drinking eventually led him to a hospital bed and a moment of reckoning. In Alcoholics Anonymous, Tim found a fellowship that guided him toward a solution through the clear-cut directions in the Big Book.     Today we welcomed Jennifer, sober since May 4, 1991, to share her incredible journey of recovery. Jennifer opened up about starting to drink at a young age, partner in life with someone who also struggled with alcoholism, and ultimately losing him to the disease. Her story takes us through deep isolation, almost repeating the same painful patterns, and finally reaching her moment of clarity that led her to sobriety. Now, more than 3 decades later, Jennifer is an active member of her home group, sponsors other women, and continues to carry the message. She speaks beautifully about the gift of watching others get sober and the joy of building healthy, balanced relationships in recovery.
