    Four Careers in One: Jason Bartley PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

    The question isn’t “What can I do with this degree?” It’s “How far can I take it?” Join us as Dr. Jason Bartley PT, DPT, DSc, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT shares his evolving career path. How mentorship, a desire to improve, and one degree of separation led to opportunities with Air force Special Operations, Major League Baseball, and Hybrid Education. Dr. Jason Bartley earned his B.S. in exercise science from the University of Puget Sound, DPT from Creighton University, and DSc in physical therapy at Bellin College. Bartley is dual-board certified as both an orthopedic and sports clinical specialist and holds fellow status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. His previous teaching responsibilities include entry-level DPT programs at the University of Puget Sound and Hanover College and a physical therapy residency and fellowship training through both Evidence in Motion and with a local physical therapy owned outpatient clinic in the greater Seattle region. His research interests include investigating factors for success in DPT students as well as understanding the demands of the overhead athlete. His clinical practice also focuses primarily on the overhead athlete and general sports medicine at the community and collegiate levels. Dr. Bartley has held several unique clinical positions, including working with the United States Air Force Special Operations Command as a tactical physical therapist embedded with a special operations squadron and serving as the clinical education coordinator and physical therapist for the Boston Red Sox professional baseball organization. His teaching responsibilities in the DPT program at Augustana span physical therapy fundamentals, primary care, therapeutic interventions, musculoskeletal practice and bracing & support technologies. Dr. Bartley lives outside of Seattle, Washington, with his wife and three children. They enjoy traveling the area and exploring the many beautiful state parks and recreational areas. He is actively involved in his local PT community and also serves on the deacon board and works with the children’s ministry at his church. Have a question for Dr. Bartley?
