The enthusiasm of Brian and Cargill is infectious (like, lockdown infectious), broadening one's horizons for seeking the films we forgot, dismissed or never heard of in the first place.
Their podcast is a weekly event that I look ever so forward to with much giddiness and an ever growing watchlist they unknowingly contribute to. The passionate discussions and friendly demeanor will make anyone feel like they are unearthing these gems along with them, though obviously, they've been holding on to these flicks for a good while, discovering the inner secrets and trivia of these films over the years. Those juicy details the dish out make for damn good reasons to re-watch the ones you've seen, and give greater depth or appreciation for the flicks they convince you to seek out.
Their podcast is as much a gem as the films they discuss, and is easily recommended as essential listening for anyone who shares even an inkling of the same enthusiasm for hidden or under appreciated films as they do.
PS:
Since adding this podcast to the feed I've sought out the following films I hadn't seen before:
Nomads
My Bloody Valentine
Lone Star
Deep Blue Sea
Demon Knight
Death to Smoochy
Time Bandits
The Last Man on Earth
Flash Gordon
and bought the following on blu-ray:
Battle Beyond the Stars
Fallen
Lifeforce
Rolling Thunder
