Haley Irwin will serve as Ottawa’s interim head coach. The Seattle Torrent’s home opener broke an attendance record for U.S. pro women’s hockey with over 16,000 fans. The expiring WNBA CBA has been extended yet again until after the new year. The exact same thing happened in 2020, the last time there was a CBA negotiation in the WNBA. 1.2 million viewers tuned into the NWSL championship, an increase of 22% over last year. Spain defeats Germany to capture the Nations League, but suffer a huge blow when superstar midfielder Aitana Bonmati breaks her leg in training. Canada’s Women’s National Soccer Team is on a five-game losing streak and haven’t scored a goal in any of those losses, their worst run of play since 2005.

City council has approved the “Lansdowne 2.0” refurbishing project, which would see an over-2,000 seat capacity reduction in the Charges’ home arena, which the franchise argues will affect the long-term viability of the club in the nation’s capital. Canada drops the first two games of the Rivalry Series to the U.S. by a combined score of (gulp) 10-2. Should Canadians be concerned three months out from the Olympics? AFC Toronto takes on Vancouver Rise FC for the Diana B. Matheson Cup as the Northern Super League Final kicks off this weekend. Vancouver advanced by beating Ottawa Rapid FC on penalties, and Michaela has a controversial take regarding extra time in soccer. A massive upset in the NWSL playoffs as no.8 Gotham City took out the no.1 seeded Kansas City Current. The NWSL announces it’s adding a 17th franchise by expanding to Atlanta. Michaela and Vanessa are joined by Monica Henao, Content Manager for the Get REAL movement, dedicated to educating people and dispelling disinformation regarding the 2SLBGTQI+ community.
