Episode 12: LESSONS FROM LOSS

Asalamu’alaikum WarahmatuLlah Wahbahrakatu!! It’s been a moment and I hope this episode finds you in the best of health. A short incite on loss and how it shapes our lives as believers. A personal reflection on loss, fear, gratitude, and the reality of preparing for death. Two incidents shifted my perspective this year, reminding me of Allah’s mercy and the importance of grounding ourselves in faith. Reference!! Jabir reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say three days before his death, “None of you should die unless he expects good from Allah.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2877 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim “We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Episode 11: Making peace with pain

Asalamu’alaikum WarahmatuLlah Wahbahrakatu. Welcome back to another episode of soul words; on today’s episode I talk briefly on mental and spiritual health. A raw, faith-centered reflection on depression, stigma, and the active work of healing. To anyone going through this phase you’re not alone; no matter what Shaytaan tries to make you believe. It is Allah who holds the cure for whatever ache you feel. I believe there’s still more to talk about on this topic and In Shaa Allah there will be more episodes coming. Allah is truly with those who are patient.” (2:153) Quote shared in the episode; Dear me, The pain that you went through once upon a time, The nights that your body ached with pain indescribable, The moments you felt alone despite being surrounded by people; cried in spaces laughter echoed. The days that you walked narrow paths to seek means to cure, The discoveries that left you in a state of despair and doubts. You strove through the darkness and emerged with faith. On this episode of soul words we dive into causes of separation, whether it be in intimate relationships, platonic friendships and all that’s related to it. How does separation affect us and what boundaries do we need to set when it comes to the influence people have in our lives. “Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof." Episode 8: New beginnings

Asalamu’alaikum WarahmatuLlah Wahbahrahkatu! Starting anew isn’t impossible but are you willing to let go of what binds you to the past and start with faith stronger than before? Reference! Abu Bakrah reported: A man praised another man in the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet said, “Woe to you! You have cut your companion’s neck! You have cut your companion’s neck! If one of you inevitably praises his companion, let him say: I consider him to be good and Allah will hold him accountable. Episode 6; Colliding wants

Asalamu’alaikum WarahmatuLlah Wahbahrahktu!! On episode 6 of the soul words podcast I reflect on colliding wants of man and how it affects us differently. Every misstep on our part is a pathway for shaytaan to step in and deter us from the path of righteousness. It’s wise that we remain cautious of the thoughts that we let linger especially when it comes to our relationship with people. Reflections!! “And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Allah loveth those who do good.” 2:195 Al-Bukhaari (13) and Muslim (45) narrated from Anas that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said : “No one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” JazakumLlah Khairan!
