Episode 036: Mold Me God: The 12-Hour Surgery Answer

Life is beautiful… but it's also messy. And right now—I'm sitting in the messy.   Just 11 days after a 12-hour surgery, I'm in a place I didn't fully expect—physically unable to move the way I normally do, needing help for everything, and walking through pain that feels overwhelming at times.   But this episode goes deeper than surgery…   Just days before, I had one of the most powerful encounters with God I've ever experienced. He revealed things in me I didn't even know were there—walls I had built, pain I had carried, and ways I had been looking to the world instead of Him for my identity and emotional stability.   I felt healing. I felt deliverance.   And then… everything got hard.   This episode is a raw and vulnerable look at what happens when:   * You ask God to mold you… and He actually does * You experience breakthrough… and then walk straight into pain * You feel like God showed up powerfully… and then suddenly feels quiet   From breast cancer at 31… to years of inflammation… to making the decision to remove implants and undergo a major reconstructive surgery using my own body…   This has been more than a physical journey. It's been a spiritual unraveling—and rebuilding.   💔 In This Episode, We Talk About:   * What it really means to ask God to "mold you" * Why healing and deliverance don't always feel peaceful * The emotional weight of carrying other people's words and pain * How we build walls to protect ourselves—and how that can hurt others * Feeling overwhelmed, broken, and alone… even after encountering God * Trusting God in the silence, not just the breakthrough     Scriptures for the Messy Seasons   * Psalm 139:23-24 — "Search me, O God…" * Isaiah 64:8 — "We are the clay, You are the potter…" * 2 Corinthians 12:9 — "My grace is sufficient for you…" * Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted…" * Deuteronomy 31:8 — "He will never leave you nor forsake you…" * John 16:33 — "In this world you will have trouble…"   A Real Reminder   Sometimes God has to strip us down… so He can rebuild us into who we were always meant to be.   This episode isn't polished. It's not wrapped up in a perfect ending.   I'm still in it. Still healing. Still walking it out.   But I know this—He hasn't left me.   Listen + Follow   🎙️ *From Slumber to Scripture* New episodes every Tuesday & Friday Follow me on youtube @fromslumbertoscripture   Available on Apple, Spotify, YouTube & all major platforms.   If You're in a Hard Season   If you feel overwhelmed… If you feel alone… If you're wondering where God is…   This episode is for you.   Don't run from Him in the pain. Episode 035: The Fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD & the Shadows of Nero

Episode Summary In Episode 3 we examine one of the most pivotal and terrifying moments in biblical history: the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD. Through the eyewitness accounts of Josephus, the red-letter warnings of Jesus in the Gospels, and the historical backdrop of Nero's persecution, we see how this event fulfilled prophecy and marked a massive shift in the spiritual landscape. Was 70 AD the "great tribulation" Jesus spoke of? Did Nero embody the number of the beast (666)? And are we now living in the "little season" when Satan is loosed to deceive the nations (Revelation 20:7-8)? This episode connects ancient history, Scripture, and prophecy to show how the fall of Jerusalem was not just a Roman military victory—it was the end of the old covenant age and a signpost pointing to the times we live in today. Key Topics Covered Nero's reign & the first major Roman persecution of Christians (64 AD) The number 666 and its gematria connection to "Nero Caesar" The Jewish Revolt (66–70 AD) and the chaos under Vespasian & Titus Josephus' documented supernatural omens: battle in the sky, chariots in clouds, voices from the Temple, earthquakes, unnatural light/darkness The horrific siege of Jerusalem: starvation, cannibalism, crucifixion en masse Destruction of the Temple – fulfillment of Matthew 24:1-3, 15-21 Christians fleeing to Pella per Jesus's warning Revelation 20:3,7-8 – Satan bound then loosed for a "little season" How 70 AD fits the preterist/historicist view of end-times prophecy Scripture References (Full NKJV Verses Read in Episode) Matthew 24:1-3 "Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, 'Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.' Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, 'Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?'" Matthew 24:15-21 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be." Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666." Revelation 20:3 "and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while." Revelation 20:7-8 "Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea." Episode 033: Satan's Little Season – Part 2: The Urgency in Scripture – "This Generation"

Episode Summary Hey friends… let's get honest: The Bible talks about the end with such urgency. Jesus says things like "this generation will not pass away until all these things take place" (Matthew 24:34). Revelation opens with "the things which must soon take place" (Rev 1:1) and ends with "Behold, I am coming quickly" (Rev 22:12,20) and "the time is at hand" (Rev 22:10). John writes like it's all right around the corner—blessed is the one who reads and keeps it, because the time is near.   But here we are, 2,000 years later. Does "soon" really mean "soon-ish" over millennia? Or "this generation" mean some far-future group? In Part 2 of our Satan's Little Season series, we dig into these urgent time texts. We look at what Jesus meant by "this generation" in the Olivet Discourse, the repeated "soon/quickly/near" language in Revelation, and how it all challenges (or supports) the idea that the millennium might be past and we're now in (or nearing) that short "little season" of deception. No scare tactics—just Scripture to help us love truth more, test everything, and stay awake in whatever season we're in. Jesus wins, and that changes how we live today. Key Scriptures Matthew 24:34 – "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place" Matthew 23:36 – "All these things will come upon this generation" (context of judgment) Revelation 1:1-3 – "…to show His bond-servants the things which must soon take place… for the time is near" Revelation 22:6-7,10,12,20 – "…things which must shortly come to pass… the time is at hand… Behold, I am coming quickly… Surely I am coming quickly" Revelation 20:7-10 – Satan's release after the thousand years for the "little season" Supporting: Mark 13:30; Luke 21:32 ("this generation"); 2 Peter 3:8-9 (God's timing vs. ours—"one day is like a thousand years") Episode Highlights / Key Points The Weight of Urgency in Jesus' Words – In Matthew 24 (Olivet Discourse), Jesus ties signs (tribulation, abomination of desolation, cosmic upheaval) to "this generation" seeing it all. What does "this generation" mean? His contemporaries? The Jewish people as a race? Or the generation alive when the final signs hit? We explore why it feels so pointed and immediate. Revelation's "Soon" Language – From start to finish: "soon take place" (1:1), "time is near" (1:3), "at hand" (22:10), "I come quickly" (22:7,12,20). John writes like the events are imminent for his readers. How do we square that with 2,000 years? Is it God's perspective ("with the Lord one day is like a thousand years")? Or does it point to a 1st-century fulfillment (e.g., AD 70 judgment on Jerusalem as a type/pattern)? Tying It to Satan's Little Season – If the "thousand years" (millennium) is symbolic or past (Church age with Satan bound from deceiving nations wholesale), then the urgency fits: We're potentially in that short, deceptive "little season" now—truth inverted, nations rallied, strong delusion. It explains today's chaos without stretching "soon" unnaturally. Balancing Views Fairly – Futurist (future literal events, "soon" means sudden when it happens); Preterist (mostly fulfilled in 1st century, urgency literal then); Partial approaches (some fulfillment in AD 70, ultimate in future). No camp-bashing—just why the urgency wakes us up regardless. What It Means for Us – Urgency isn't about date-setting; it's about readiness. Live awake, test spirits, cling to truth, share hope—because whether "soon" was then or echoes now, Jesus is coming, and deception doesn't win. Discussion Questions (for reflection, groups, or comments) Which urgent phrase hits you hardest—"this generation," "soon," "quickly," "time is at hand"—and why? How do you understand "this generation" in Matthew 24? Does it feel like Jesus' day, ours, or both? If Revelation's urgency was for 1st-century believers facing persecution, how does that encourage us in our "little season" struggles today? Does considering we might be in Satan's short deception time make you more vigilant or more hopeful? Why? Practically: How can we "keep what is written" (Rev 1:3) amid confusion—love truth, stay in community, hold fast to Jesus?   Call to Action This week, read Matthew 24 and Revelation 1 & 22 aloud—feel the urgency. Pray: "Lord, wake me to truth in whatever season this is." Share your thoughts/questions on @FromSlumberToScripture   If this stirred questions (even big ones), subscribe, review kindly, and pass it to a friend navigating end-times confusion.   We're not figuring it all out perfectly—we're awakening together to the One who said "I am coming quickly." Hold fast. He wins. 💛   Thanks for listening—see you in Part 3!   #ChristianPodcast #SpiritualWarfare #BiblicalTruth #BibleStudyPodcast #jesus #god #bible #christian #christianity #history #faith #jesuschrist #bibleverse #podcast

Episode 032: The Resurrection Morning: Women, Angels, & Proof That Jesus Rose

Hey friends… can we just sit with this for a minute? The tomb was empty. Jesus wasn't there. The stone rolled away, the linens folded, and everything the women expected—grief, spices, final goodbye—was shattered by the most explosive truth in history: He has risen. In Episode 32, we walk through the resurrection morning together. We look at what the four Gospels actually say (yes, there are differences—who showed up when, how many angels, the order of appearances), why those variations don't contradict but actually strengthen the story, the rock-solid reasons historians take the empty tomb seriously, and what it means for us right now: If Jesus conquered death, slumber ends, fear loses its grip, and hope isn't wishful thinking—it's alive in Him. This isn't just Easter fluff; it's the heartbeat of our faith. If He rose, everything changes. Let's wake up to that power today. Key Scriptures Matthew 28:1-10 – Earthquake, angel rolls the stone, Jesus meets the women Mark 16:1-8 – Women find the tomb empty, young man announces "He is risen" Luke 24:1-12 – Women (Mary Magdalene, Joanna, others) report to disciples, who think it's nonsense at first John 20:1-18 – Mary Magdalene runs to Peter and John; they see the empty tomb and linens; Jesus calls her by name 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 – Early creed: Christ died, buried, rose on the third day, appeared to Cephas, the Twelve, 500+ brothers, James, all apostles, Paul Episode Highlights / Key Points The Women as First Witnesses – In a 1st-century world where women's testimony wasn't valued in court, God chooses them first. That's not the detail you'd invent if making it up—it screams authenticity. The Differences in the Accounts – Not contradictions; complementary eyewitness perspectives. (E.g., one angel vs. two? Different moments in the unfolding event. Who arrived first? Multiple visits that morning.) Harmonizing shows one unified, chaotic, joyful morning—not a scripted story. Historical Credibility of the Empty Tomb – Preached in Jerusalem weeks later (where opponents could produce a body if it existed). Joseph of Arimathea's tomb (named, verifiable). Women witnesses (embarrassing criterion). Early creed in 1 Cor 15 (within 2-5 years of the event). No body ever produced. What the Resurrection Means for Us – Death defeated. Sin's penalty paid. Our future resurrection guaranteed. Hope in grief, power over fear, reason to live boldly. Moves us from spiritual slumber to awakened witness: "He is risen indeed!" Personal Reflection – How this truth hits me: It pulls me out of doubt, reminds me Jesus calls me by name (like Mary), and gives courage in hard seasons. Discussion Questions (for personal journaling, small groups, or comments) Why do you think God made women the first resurrection witnesses? What does that say about His heart for the overlooked? How do the Gospel differences actually make the resurrection more believable to you (or challenge you)? If the tomb wasn't empty, what would that do to your faith? Why is this non-negotiable? Where in your life right now do you need resurrection power—hope revived, fear defeated, slumber shaken off? How can remembering "He is risen" change how you face tomorrow? Resources & Further Reading Bible Project: "Resurrection" video overview Books: "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel (evidence focus) or "The Resurrection of the Son of God" by N.T. Wright (deep dive) 1 Corinthians 15 – Read it this week as Paul's "Gospel in a nutshell"   Call to Action This Easter (or whenever you're listening), read all four resurrection accounts side-by-side. Let the details sink in.   If this episode stirred hope or questions, subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone walking through doubt or grief—they need to hear the tomb is empty. He is risen, friends. He is risen indeed! 💛 Thanks for listening—let's keep awakening together. Episode 031: Satan's Little Season – Why End Times Talk Gets So Heated (And What If We're In It?)

Episode Summary: Hey friends… let's be honest: end-times prophecy can make people really upset. I've seen it—folks get angry, defensive, scared, or just tune out completely. Why? Because it touches our deepest fears about the future, control, suffering, and what "winning" looks like for Jesus. In this kickoff to our mini-series on Satan's "little season," we start by talking about why these topics stir up so much emotion. Then we lay out the main views Christians hold: amillennialism (the millennium is symbolic, happening now through the Church age), premillennialism (Christ returns before a literal 1,000-year reign), postmillennialism (a golden age through the gospel before He returns), and the rapture debates (pre-trib, post-trib, etc.).   But here's where it gets personal and provocative: What if the 1,000 years are behind us? What if we're living in (or right at the edge of) that short "little season" when Satan is released to deceive the nations one last time (Rev 20:7-10)? No doom-scrolling here—just honest Scripture wrestling to help us move from spiritual slumber to awakened, truth-loving faith. Let's talk about it together. Key Scriptures Revelation 20:1-10 – Satan bound for 1,000 years, then released for a "little season" to deceive Gog and Magog; final defeat by fire from heaven Revelation 20:3,7 – "…he must be loosed a little season" 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 – The coming of the lawless one with deception; God sends strong delusion to those who refuse truth Matthew 24:4-5,11,24 – Warnings about deception in the last days John 8:44 – Satan as the father of lies 1 John 4:1-4 – Test the spirits; greater is He in you than he in the world Episode Highlights / Key Points Why End-Times Prophecy Upsets People So Much – It hits fears of the unknown, loss of control, suffering/tribulation, family/friends left behind, or even "what if my view is wrong?" Some sensationalize it (fear sells), others avoid it (overwhelmed by debates). But Scripture calls us to hope, not terror—Jesus wins! The Major Views on the End Times – Quick, fair overview: Amillennialism – The "thousand years" is symbolic of the current Church age; Satan is "bound" from deceiving nations wholesale since Christ's resurrection; Christ returns after this era for judgment/new creation. Premillennialism – Literal future 1,000-year reign on earth after Christ's return; often includes pre-trib rapture (Church taken before tribulation) or post-trib (after). Things get worse before better. Postmillennialism – Golden age of gospel triumph before Christ returns; world improves through the Church. Rapture debates tie in: pre-trib (escape wrath), post-trib (endure then caught up). Introducing the Big Question for This Series – What if the millennium (peaceful reign) is past? What if history as we know it has gaps because we're in Satan's short release—mass deception, truth upside-down, nations rallied against God? It explains a lot of today's chaos without fear if we stay anchored in Jesus. The Hope in All This – No matter the timeline, deception doesn't win. Greater is He in us. This wakes us to test everything, love truth, and share hope boldly.   Call to Action Open Revelation 20 this week—read it slowly, pray over it. What jumps out? Share your thoughts, questions, or "aha" moments with me on @FromSlumberToScripture or #SatansLittleSeason. If this stirred you (even uncomfortably), subscribe, leave a kind review, and share with a friend wrestling through these times.   We're not here to scare each other—we're here to wake up together and cling to the One who holds the future. He is coming. He wins. And in Him, we have nothing to fear. 💛   Thanks for joining me—can't wait for Episode 2. Episode 030: The Empty Tomb: Why It Changes Everything

Episode Summary The resurrection of Jesus stands as the cornerstone of Christian faith, and it begins with one undeniable detail: the tomb was empty. On the third day, women followers discovered the stone rolled away and the body of Jesus gone. This episode explores the biblical accounts of the empty tomb across the four Gospels, addresses common questions about differences in the narratives, examines historical evidence supporting its reality, and reflects on why the empty tomb changes everything for believers today. If Christ is risen, death is defeated, hope is alive, and our faith has a firm foundation. Key Scriptures Matthew 28:1-10 – Earthquake, angel rolls the stone, Jesus appears to the women Mark 16:1-8 – Women find the stone already rolled away, young man (angel) announces He is risen Luke 24:1-12 – Women (including Mary Magdalene, Joanna) find the tomb empty, angels remind them of Jesus' words, disciples initially dismiss it John 20:1-18 – Mary Magdalene runs to tell Peter and John, they race to see the empty tomb and linens, Jesus appears to Mary 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 – Early creed: Christ died, was buried, rose on the third day, appeared to many Episode Highlights / Key Points The Discovery – Women as the first witnesses (culturally "embarrassing" detail that adds credibility). Differences in the Gospel Accounts – Not contradictions, but complementary perspectives (e.g., number of angels, who arrived when). Harmonization shows one unified event. Historical Evidence for the Empty Tomb Preached in Jerusalem shortly after (impossible if body remained). Women as primary witnesses (unlikely fabrication in 1st-century culture). Early sources (e.g., pre-Pauline creed in 1 Cor 15 dates to within years of the event). Reliable burial by Joseph of Arimathea (well-known figure). What the Empty Tomb Means – Proof of Jesus' victory over death, fulfillment of prophecy, guarantee of our future resurrection (Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15). Personal Application – Moves us from doubt/slumber to bold faith and witness.   Discussion Questions (for personal reflection, small groups, or listener engagement) Why do you think God chose women as the first witnesses to the empty tomb? What does this say about His heart? How do the slight variations in the Gospel accounts strengthen their reliability rather than weaken it? If the tomb wasn't empty, what would that mean for Christianity? Why is the empty tomb non-negotiable? How does the reality of the resurrection change how you face fear, grief, or doubt in your daily life? Share a time when "slumber" (spiritual dullness) gave way to awakening through remembering God's promises. Resources & Further Reading GotQuestions.org: "Can the resurrection accounts be harmonized?"
