Robert Dietz - You're So Hood Biography: Talk about house music and its impossible not to talk about Japan’s Satoshi Tomiie. Since starting out in the late 80s he has been one of the scene’s most important and influential figures who has crafted endless dancefloor anthems as well as turning his hand to more pop inclined work, headline DJ sets around the world and all the while staying as relevant as anyone in the game. And it all started in Tokyo clubs during Satoshi’s youth, where he was forging himself a great reputation as a talented DJ in the early days of house. Also a lifelong student of jazz and classical piano, Satoshi soon started producing and had a huge impact right from his very first record. The debut single ‘Tears’ - co-produced in 1989 with Chicago’s ‘Godfather of house’ Frankie Knuckles - was an instant club hit and is today considered one of house music’s most important moments. Soon after, Satoshi relocated to New York City to get fully involved with the exciting early 90s electronic music scene. It immediately paid off, and because he was an accomplished musician as well as dexterous DJ, Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (of Yellow Magic Orchestra fame) asked Satoshi to join him on his tour, and the rest is history. Since then, this auteur has forever been honing his musical ability before retuning to the studio once more. Throughout his career, international stars likes U2, Mariah Carey, Photek, Simply Red and David Bowie have all been remixed by Satoshi who has an ear for groove like few others in the world today. Of course, all the while Satoshi has continued to release seminal albums and tracks like Full Lick and Love In Traffic, records that showcase the man’s unique take on dark and twisted electronic rhythms, tortured vocals and generally hypnotic sounds. Satoshi runs the well-respected SAW.RECORDINGS imprint with Hector Romero, and together the pair have continued to refine and reinvent the Chicago and New York house blueprint for more than a decade by championing the up and coming who are now established international talents of acts like Nacho Marco (whose recent Blackmail EP received widespread acclaim), Guy Gerber, Audiofly, Luca Bacchetti, Doomwork, Tuccillo and Guti. Like Satoshi, the philosophy of Saw is about quality underground dance music, not quantity. Having taken something of a time out to rebuild his studio, Satoshi is now back with a vengeance. This year will see Satoshi release a plethora of new projects, including a collaboration between Satoshi and Brooklyn's Joeski (called Satoeski), a remix of Stelios Vassiloudes & Tomomi Ukumori's 'Green In Blue' on Bedrock Records, collaborations with Matthias Vogt and Iori Wakasa (an up and coming DJ from Tokyo), and finally a new artist album and singles from Satoshi solo. Satoshi hasn't slowed down on the DJing front either, and continues to play week in, week out at some of the best clubs in the world such as Womb in Tokyo and Pacha Buenos Aires. His Pop Up Party series, that features Satoshi playing all night at small, intimate clubs is also proving to be popular. Recently Satoshi launched his own podcast series that sees Satoshi showcase the music he is into currently. This year, is set to be yet another landmark in Satoshi’s career, as it will see the release of his new artist album, no doubt full of the electronic delights that we have come to expect from a man who is an essential voice in the global house music conversation. www.instagram.com/satoshi_tomiie www.twitter.com/sawrec @satoshitomiie

The Bloody Beetroots - All the girls(No Artificial Colours Rmx) Biography: “The decks, the disks, the cd and other in the hands of a good dj, are good instruments, the important is to know how to use them in the best way! These elements can become for the dj, as for a good musician, a great orchestra. That’s why today also a dj can ride the classifications with the pieces realized, remixed and produced by him and because the youngs cram to one of his dj set as once only for a rock concert happened. The dj is the new star! Besides also Brian Eno had foretold this in the distant year 83 saying: ” the musician of the future will be the dj! ” A philosophy of life at the base of the profession of the dj always accompanied by a good musical taste, ear, humility and above all passion in these words it is picked the opinion of Flavio Kirilli. Flavio, since from childhood, has been a lover of music and of what rotates around it; he starts to move his first footsteps when he was 16 buying the first console, then growing ,he continues his walk “putting disks” practically in the best clubses of the region. After sometime, he learns to discover and to interpret the different musical tastes of the people, the way to make amuse them and to transmit emotions. After different broadcast experiences he comes to Ciccio Riccio (one among the most important radios in Puglia), where for a few years he succeeds in spreading his sound to the thousand of listeners of the station; meanwhile the evenings increase and he succeeds in affirming him also out of its region (but he has to do a lot more). In 2002 he decides to move definitively to Riccione where all the time there are the most important clubs of Italy. Here finally the dreams become reality, after having worked at the Echoes – Liz and to the Byblos and Pascià. For different years he works to one of the shops of disks more important of Italy, where he enriches his musical culture and strengthens his knowledges with the best exponents of the house panorama national and not only. In 20 years he has worked in hundreds of clubs in Italy and to the foreign countries, among the most meaningful: Matis (Bologna), Divinae Follie (Bisceglie – Ba), Nafoura (Castellaneta Marina-Ta), Fellini (Milano), Dna (Ginosa Marina – Ta), Miu’ J’adore (Marotta-An), Chalet delle Rose (Bologna), Des Alpes (Madonna di Campiglio – Tn), Vanilla (Siena), The Door (New York – USA), NiteFlight (Leibnitz – Austria), Fiesta Club (Bruxelles – Belgio), Penthouse (Copenhagen - Denmark) and so many others… He has worked with sacred monsters of the music, artists of world calibre with which he have had the pleasure to share both the professionalism and the friendship. “It is enought look at them working to understand that from them there is always to learn ” he says with humility… Consequence of his success and his back-ground musical, as natural professional growth, Flavio from 2006 starts to compare him with the job of remixer and record producer. Between a dj set and another, with friends dj and musicians he moves in different recording studies where he is working at his new tracks.... With his partner Andrea Arcangeli create a duo called DOUBLE:THINK and together they working hard on many new stuff…. Stay tuned!!!! (185) Shinedoe for m2o radio (www.m2o.it) 11 05 2014

Biography: Her real name, Chinedum, is Nigerian for ‘God is leading me’. In the world of Shinedoe, god is music. As if she’s completing a trilogy, the album is a sleek representation of her musical history, a rich tapestry that has spanned releases on the likes of BPitch, Cocoon and Get Physical as well as her own imprint, Intacto. A tour de force of highly organic dance music bringing together the energy of club material alongside more thoughtful and introverted songs, ‘Illogical Directions’ is exactly the album you’d want Shinedoe to make. Starting with the sultry, dub beats of ‘Release Yourself‘ and the mechanical house infusion of ‘Essence’, to the deep jazzy house of ‘Alto Parisio’ and the dark and twisted ‘Discourse My New Romance’ featuring The Knife’s Karin Dreijer, for Shinedoe, the third time’s a charm. An exploration of sensations in sound, Shinedoe deftly delivers anthemic tracks such as the single ‘Circle Of Life’ featuring the infectious vocals of Miss Bunty as well as exploring the darker and more gritty world of ‘God’s Love’ and ‘Get Dirty’. “When I produce music, it comes from my heart and soul”, she explains. “As a result, these new tracks all have their own feeling and identity, you can’t label them to one particular sound. It was a challenge bringing them together, but it works!” This release marks a decade of her infamous Intacto imprint, the label she founded with 2000 and One that has launched and pushed the career of many notorious Dutch artists such as Lauhaus and Anton Pieete. A full world tour for the label will follow in September 2014.
