Were they protectors, spirits, or something that walked the line between myth and reality? The Cherokee said they lived inside the mountains, appearing in times of danger, guiding lost travelers, and vanishing without a trace. We’ll explore who the Nunnehi were said to be, where they supposedly lived, and why so many people across Appalachia still talk about strange lights and voices coming from beneath the ridgelines. This is where the mystery really begins.
