Xbox Disc To Digital, GTA 6 Netflix Trailer & Playstation State Of Play September 2026

This week on Next Take Podcast, Canada’s own Mikel and RJ discuss Xbox’s shift from disc to digital, the latest GTA 6Netflix trailer, and the biggest announcements from PlayStation’s September 2026 State of Play. Xbox is giving physical game collectors a new way to take their libraries into the digital era. The company’s new Disc-to-Digital feature allows players to insert supported Xbox One or Xbox Series X game discs and claim digital access to those titles.The feature is currently being tested through the Xbox Insider Program and already supports thousands of games, with Xbox planning to expand compatibility over time. Once a supported game is recognized, players can enjoy digital benefits such as playing without leaving the disc in the console, along with Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming on eligible titles. Now Also Digital.” ) Rockstar Games took an unconventional approach to its latest GTA 6 reveal, teaming up with Netflix to give subscribers the first look at an extended presentation for Grand Theft Auto VI. The nearly 27-minute showcase offered fans a much deeper look at the highly anticipated game, using footage captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. The Netflix-first premiere also turned a video game trailer into something closer to a major streaming event, showing just how massive the anticipation surrounding GTA 6 has become. With Jason and Lucia at the center of the story and the state of Leonida providing the backdrop, the extended look gave players their clearest preview yet of Rockstar's next open-world blockbuster ahead of its November 19, 2026 release. Among the biggest highlights were an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which is officially launching April 8, 2027, new details on Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, updates for Gran Turismo 7 and Saros, and a January release window for Until Dawn 2. Witch Trials

This week on Next Take Podcast, Canada’s own Mikel and Tanyka explore the dark history of witch trials in Ireland, Switzerland, and Scotland, examining the fear, accusations, and persecution that shaped these chilling chapters of European history. The witch trials of Europe were not limited to the infamous events in Salem. Across Ireland, Switzerland, and Scotland, accusations of witchcraft led to investigations, trials, imprisonment, torture, and executions—often driven by religious fears, political tensions, local disputes, and beliefs about supernatural forces.Ireland experienced considerably fewer witch trials than many other European countries, but its history still contains notable cases. One of the most significant was the Islandmagee witch trial of 1711 in County Antrim. Nine people were prosecuted in two trials at Carrickfergus, making the case Ireland’s last witch trials conducted under a dedicated witchcraft law. Switzerland was one of the early centres of European witch persecution. In the Swiss region of Valais, major persecutions began in 1428, decades before some of Europe’s better-known witch hunts. Historians have connected these persecutions partly to political and social conflicts, while emerging ideas about people making pacts with the Devil helped shape the developing European concept of witchcraft. Scotland experienced witch hunting on an especially large scale. The Scottish Witchcraft Act was in force from 1563 to 1736, and University of Edinburgh researchers have identified 3,837 people accused of witchcraft during Scotland’s early-modern witch hunts. Accusations often involved supposed harmful magic, encounters with the Devil, supernatural activity, illness, misfortune, and conflicts between neighbours. Toronto Cop Charged With Accessing Databases Unauthorized, ADHD Brain Show Sleep Like Activity and Kenya is Doing the Darn Thing!

This week on Next Take Podcast, Canada’s own Mikel and Tanyka discuss a Toronto police officer charged with allegedly accessing databases without authorization, new research suggesting ADHD brains may show sleep-like activity while awake, and Kenya making major moves. A Toronto police officer is facing a criminal charge after allegedly accessing private police databases without authorization. Police allege Const. Abbas Popal, 25, accessed the databases multiple times between January 2024 and April 2025. Popal, who had approximately three years of service and was assigned to 55 Division, was charged with unauthorized use of a computer and suspended with pay. Toronto Police said the case was not connected to Project South, a separate investigation involving allegations of police corruption and organized crime. (via Source: Global News/ Canadian Press - Toronto cop charged with accessing private police databases without authorization ) New research is providing scientists with a fascinating look at what may be happening inside the ADHD brain during moments of lost focus. Researchers found that adults with ADHD displayed higher levels of sleep-like slow-wave brain activity even while they were awake and completing an attention task. The study found that increased slow-wave activity was connected with attention lapses, slower reaction times, mind-wandering and greater feelings of sleepiness. Researchers believe these brief periods of “local sleep,” where certain areas of the brain temporarily display sleep-like activity while the person remains awake, could help explain why attention can fluctuate in people with ADHD. The findings don't mean that the ADHD brain is literally asleep during the day. Instead, they point to a possible neurological connection between sleep, alertness and some of the attention difficulties associated with ADHD.
