Pick your Flick is a podcast about movies and friendship. Each episode, friends Bec and Liam discuss a film and share some personal stories. No genre is off limits, and films include a mixture of old and new. It’s basically a book club, but for films.     Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

    Liam and Bec reminisce about exercise adventures including Saturday morning "training", weird walks around the lake and canoeing matrix moves.     True Lies

    Liam brings another movie quiz for Bec, but this time it's a bit easier and in Bec's specialty area - which film is this song in? A bit of spoon feeding going on, but satisfying nonetheless.  This episode's film is True Lies (1994), a secret-spy comedy-romance film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.  It gave huge 90s nostalgia, with flashbacks to Friday nights on the couch with a pizza and True Lies being played on tv for the 100th time. The one-liners and iconic scenes made it a fun re-watch.

    The Substance

    Liam has been naughty! Bec shares a couple stories about Liam's car-related cheeky behaviour.  The hosts review 2024 smash hit body horror, The Substance. This film was wild, with incredible visuals and performances. The dark humour, shocking scenes and social commentary made it a must-watch - even when the watching was challenging!

    Armageddon

    Top Secret

    In this episode of Pick Your Flick, hosts Bec and Liam go head-to-head in a Bec Story battle. Will Liam be able to identify the films Bec describes in her unconventional, sometimes incorrect manner?  The hosts then dive into the unique genre of parody with a review of the 1984 comedy Top Secret.     This episode, Liam has a pivotal realisation about the format of this podcast, and the friends discuss a weekend shared in Brisbane.  This week's film, All Of Us Strangers (2023), has a big impact on both Liam and Bec.     This week, Liam shares the story of when Bec accidentally swindled the local video store. The hosts then discuss Minari (2020), the delicate story of a Korean-American family's pursuit of the American dream.
