Delaney Nelson: Raising twins, racing Hyrox. The reality of the rebuild.

This week we’re joined by Delaney Nelson – known to many of you as the “Hybrid Twin Mama” on Instagram. Delaney is a hybrid athlete, coach, competitor and mum of twins, and in this episode she shares what it really looked like rebuilding herself after motherhood. From gaining 100lbs during pregnancy, stepping away from movement completely, and feeling like she’d “blacked out” for two years postpartum… to starting with stroller walks around the block, some Peloton classes, then a half marathon — and eventually finding herself competing in HYROX. We talk about: The reality of postpartum identity lossLetting go of ego and starting from zeroMoving from a weight-loss mindset to fuelling like an athlete againTraining through chaos (and twin life)Why community changes everythingBody confidence on the start lineAnd why the first step is always the hardestDelaney is honest, vulnerable and incredibly empowering — especially for mums who feel like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way. If you’ve ever felt behind, overwhelmed, or unsure whether you can start again… this one is for you. Rebecca Fenney: The Other Side of Your Favourite MAFS UK Star — HYROX, Fitness & Beauty

This week we’re joined by Rebecca Fenney, known to many from Married at First Sight UK — but this conversation goes far beyond what you see on screen. Rebecca opens up about how fitness has been a constant through her life, even when routine, structure and training were taken completely out of her control. We talk honestly about what it was really like trying to train while filming a reality TV show, why the gym became a rare safe space during that time, and how losing her usual fitness routine affected her both mentally and physically. We also get into all things HYROX — how she trains, how she approaches race day, running vs strength, race strategy, favourite trainers, race-day outfits, and the little things that make a big difference when you’re on the start line. She shares why her online presence is rooted in inspiring women — especially those over 30 — to know that it’s never too late to start, reset, or try something new. We also dive into juggling a full-time career as an aesthetics nurse alongside training, why fitness doesn’t always have to be the main focus, and how she’s learned to let it ebb and flow with life. This is a grounded, refreshing conversation about strength, identity, and using fitness as a way to feel like yourself again. Poppy Jones: 1:15 to 1:01 — The Running Secrets Behind a HYROX Pro Solo Win

This week on the podcast, we’re joined by Poppy Jones — Third Space PT and one of the most exciting athletes currently chasing the HYROX dream. Fresh off the racecourse in Manchester, where she clocked a PB of 1:01:18 and took the Solo Pro win, it felt like the perfect time to sit down and have a proper chat. Poppy opens up about the journey that led to this breakthrough moment — from international netball and burnout, to rebuilding her confidence and finally trusting what she’s capable of on race day. We dive deep into the running transformation that changed everything: moving from 5:30–5:40/km HYROX run splits, to committing fully to running-focused training. In just 10 months, she dropped her 10K from 46 minutes to 36, ran a sub-18 5K. We also talk racing nerves vs racing with confidence, the mental side of performance, why Manchester felt so different to London, and what it takes to fully commit to chasing a career as an athlete. This episode is a brilliant insight into patience, belief, and what can happen when the work finally clicks. Poppy is quietly becoming one to watch — and after this conversation, you’ll understand why.
