What happened?
I followed the podcast for years and I remember abandoning it because of a feeling that the story quality gradually went down. I thought I’d imagined it but re-listening, there’s a NOTICEABLE decrease in story (and sometimes voice acting and sound effects) quality starting from the pandemic special episode onwards, coupled with the ads getting really intrusive and obnoxious (down to jaunty royalty free sounding ukulele music) with some stories being completely inane (like a half hour story about a man trying to kill a spider) or juvenile revenge fantasies that feel like they were written by maladjusted high schoolers. It’s a 4/5 podcast if you pretend it ended with season 13 tho.
Stories
I don’t know who chooses which stories get featured but some of them are REALLY bad like 🤢 bad, failed-creative-writing-class-101 bad, thirteen-years-writing-creepypastas bad…
