Biden's Middle East Bungling, Why Kamala Wants Another Debate, Walz Won't Mind His Business

Join Jim and Greg as they take on three big martinis, as they discuss the escalating war between Israel and Hezbollah and how Biden botched the Israel-Hamas talks, why Kamala Harris is so eager to have another debate with Donald Trump, how Tim Walz wants to be in your face about politics, and much more. First, they document the latest developments in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and remind the media Hezbollah was firing a lot of rockets into Israel long before the pager explosions last week. They also highlight a Wall Street Journal story saying there probably won't be an Israel-Hamas ceasefire during Biden's presidency and that Biden's team is finally coming to realize what we knew all along - Hamas doesn't want a deal. Next, they react to Vice President Harris accepting an invitation to a CNN presidential debate on October 23. So far, Trump is declining the offer. But after two months of campaign fluff and avoiding press conferences and most interviews, why is Harris so intent on another debate?  Meanwhile, Greg reported back in 2020 that the State of Michigan sent an absentee voter application to his childhood address, meaning he was (and maybe still is) on Michigan's voter rolls more than 20 years after moving out of the state. Now there's another story of Michigan voter roll insanity that's even worse. Finally, they shake their heads as Minnesota Gov. Tim "Mind Your Own Damn Business" Walz now thinks you need to confront people in the grocery store about this election and tells those who just want to stay away from politics that they don't have that option.

Kamala's Clueless Economics, GOP's Carolina Crisis, Harris Free from Biden Blame?

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss just how clueless Kamala Harris is on policy, the revolting allegations against North Carolina GOP gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson, and Doug Emhoff saying Harris shouldn't get any blame for Biden's presidency. First, they shake their heads as Vice President Harris incoherently rambles her way through a town hall with Oprah Winfrey that was filled with softball questions. Jim says her inability to give convincing arguments is a major stumbling block in Kamala's efforts to prove she is up to the job. Next, they recoil at the myriad of sexual and racial allegations leveled at Mark Robinson, the Republican nominee for Governor of North Carolina. After wading through the moral and ethical muck contained in the reporting, they fume that the North Carolina GOP apparently knew there were ticking time bombs related to Robinson but championed his candidacy anyway. (Parents may want to be sure kids are not around when you listen to this martini). Finally, they get another laugh as Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff says his wife should not be held responsible for the performance of the Biden administration or have been expected to achieve any of her current campaign goals while serving as Vice President of the United States. Trump & the Teamsters, Iran Envoy's Clearance Chaos, Pelosi Says Kamala Won Open Primary

Join Jim and Greg as they react to Donald Trump dominating the vote among Teamsters Union members but the union refusing to offer any endorsement, the State Department stripping Iran envoy Robert Malley of his security clearance but never bothering to enforce it, and Nancy Pelosi insisting Kamala Harris won an open primary to become the Democrats' nominee. First, they highlight the dramatic shift among Teamsters Union members, who moved from favoring Joe Biden over Trump by eight points to supporting Trump over Kamala Harris by 27 points. But somehow that lopsided margin was not enough for Trump to get the endorsement. But the Teamsters also refused to endorse Harris. So did Trump's royal treatment of the Teamsters at the RNC pay off or not? Next, they express frustration over a State Department Inspector General's report revealing that, even after Iran envoy Robert Malley lost his clearance, he continued to access classified information due to a lack of oversight at the highest levels. They also react to reports of Iran hacking the Trump campaign, attempting to relay sensitive information to Biden and Harris. Finally, they roll their eyes at Nancy Pelosi's assertion that Kamala Harris won an open primary to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee. Jim has some choice words in response to that and has fun with Pelosi claiming that Biden is the most consequential president in modern history. DeSantis Defends Trump Probe, Cringeworthy Questioning of Kamala, Secret Service & Trump's Golf

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Gov. Ron DeSantis for his deeper explanation for why Florida definitely needs to be conducting its own investigation into this past weekend's attempted assassination of Donald Trump. They also discuss the pathetic question aimed at Kamala Harris in a rare interview opportunity and the weak argument that Donald Trump's love of golf is making him more vulnerable to being attacked. First, they agree with Gov. DeSantis that state officials do need to be conducting their own investigation because there are some pertinent charges that federal prosecutors cannot pursue but state officials can. And while any prosecution ought to be based on the facts, limiting charges to just a couple of federal gun crimes hardly seems sufficient for a man caught trying to kill a former president who is currently a major party nominee for president. Next, they groan as one of the panelists interviewing Kamala Harris at a National Association of Black Journalists event asks her the brutally tough question, "Why is joy important to you to insert into this election?" Jim notes that opportunities to question Harris are few and far between so you shouldn't be wasting them on things like that when there are many critical issues worth addressing. Finally, they cast a skeptical eye on a Politico story suggesting that Donald Trump is putting himself in danger by continuing to play golf, supposedly because it puts a major strain on Secret Service personnel to secure the large amount of space involved. They don't doubt that it is challenging but many presidents have been avid players and Secret Service never seemed to complain about his before. Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss many Hezbollah figures being injured by exploding pagers, Hillary Clinton demanding a more negative media "narrative" about Donald Trump, and the Teamsters Union on the brink of an endorsement. First, they marvel once again at the ingenuity of (probably) Israeli operatives getting explosives into pagers, the pagers into the hands of thousands of Hezbollah figures, and then detonating them simultaneously. It's the latest in a very creative summer for Israeli intelligence...or whoever carried out these attacks. Next, they groan as Hillary Clinton is back in public demanding the media carry out a more "consistent narrative" of how "dangerous" Donald Trump is and the threat he allegedly poses to the country and the world. She also continues to blame her 2016 loss to Trump on Russian disinformation. And in addition to confronting international political mischief, Hillary also called for civil and criminal prosecution for Americans found disseminating what she considers misinformation or disinformation. Finally, they shake their heads at the apparent likelihood that the Teamsters Union will offer an endorsement this week and that Kamala Harris seems more likely to get the nod based on what union boss Sean O'Brien is saying. If that happens, Jim says Republicans should learn a big lesson from handing over a critical hour on the first night of the convention to a guy who bashed right to work and business leaders. Single-Family Fiction, Trump Rejects Future Debate, 'Appalling' Secret Service Review

Join Jim and Greg as they close the week with an important correction from Thursday's edition,  strong thoughts on Trump's rejection of another debate and the questionable characters in his inner circle, and startling indications that the performance of the Secret Service on the day of the Trump assassination attempt was even worse than we thought. First, they apologize for basing their Thursday story about a Maryland county considering major zoning changes that allegedly threatened existing and future single-family homes on an erroneous story from a local ABC news station. They explain what the proposed changes would actually do and why that news source is unlikely to get the benefit of the doubt again. Next, they explain why they think Trump was wrong to reject another debate with Kamala Harris, pointing out that even with somewhat biased moderators, a debate is still the best chance to make gettable voters aware of Kamala's radical positions and failed tenure as vice president. They also chide Trump for allowing a figure like Laura Loomer into his inner circle - which is almost guaranteed to make things worse. Finally, they're stunned to see staunch lefty Connecticut Sen. Dick Blumenthal predict the American people will be "appalled" by the egregious failings of the U.S. Secret Service in connection to the attempted assassination of Trump on July 13. And Blumenthal also blasted the Department of Homeland Security for its lack of cooperation in the investigation. Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California's Woes, No Single-Family Homes?

Join Jim and Greg for a quick and fun discussion of getting spam emails from the DNC. Then they tackle National Security Council spokesman John Kirby disrespecting veterans critical of Biden, an LA Times columnist blaming Republicans for California's litany of problems, and politicians in Maryland considering an end to single-family homes. After some quick jokes about the odd, unsolicited DNC emails that Greg keeps getting, they dig into Admiral Kirby hitting "reply all" on a request for a statement from veterans mad about Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and announcing their concerns weren't even worth a response. "Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe," is what Kirby said. Jim says Kirby needs to remember that he works for the people and not the Democratic Party. Next, they roll their eyes at an opinion column in the Los Angeles Times that admits California is a mess. And even though no Republican has held statewide office since early 2011, columnist Steve Lopez says it's still the GOP's fault because of things Republicans did more than 50 years ago and that the Democrats' many failures under one-party control in recent years are also the Republicans' fault. Really! Jim has little patience for this revisionism and says Democrats have been able to do whatever they want in California. And what they want leads to disaster. Finally, they turn their attention to the DC suburbs in Maryland. For years, people on the right have been branded as conspiracy theorists for saying the left wants to put an end to single-family homes and crowd more people into those spaces in order to collect more in property taxes. In Montgomery County, Maryland, the county council is now...surprise...considering legislation to put an end to single-family homes - under the false pretense of creating more affordable housing.  Please visit our great sponsors: Lumen https://lumen.me/3ML Head to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.
