She holds a State of Mississippi Class AAAA Educator License with various endorsements, including administrator. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, Master of Science in Educational Administration, graduate hours in psychology, Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. B. joined Columbia Southern University in March 2010, working as an instructor, course writer, and program director. She serves on various committees and presents frequently to faculty and other audiences. Freda is an active member of the community, a passionate motivator, and remains devoted to student success.     In episode two of The Chantell Cooley Podcast, we are joined by Jo Bass, who served in the U.S. Air Force for over 31 years. In August 2020, she was selected as the 19th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force and the first woman to become the highest senior enlisted leader in any military service, making her a unique trailblazer and role model to hundreds of thousands of men and women. She retired from that position in March 2024 and continues to champion national security and policies that impact veterans and their families using her influence and platform.
