    Celebrating a 5 Year Pod Anniversary at Bluey's World

    Our podcast is celebrating five years since we started talking about Bluey and her home town of Brisbane! To celebrate we headed down to Bluey's World in Hamilton right by the river - because they are also celebrating 300,000 visitors through the doors, an extension through to March 2026, as well as a ton of new games and experiences. We also had a chat about some of the things that are floating around the Bluey universe; why the ABC (the Australian broadcaster of Bluey) pulled the Hammerbarn episode, and the research that shows Bluey is making your kids more resilient.     Bluey's Dan Brumm (Uncle Stripe/Sound Design) Tackles 'The Decider'

    It's that time of year when the fierce rivalry between Queensland and New South Wales comes to a head with the annual State of Origin rugby league matches. And this year we've got ourselves another decider in the three game series! You'd know Dan Brumm's voice - he plays Uncle Stripe on Bluey, but he's also been the show's sound designer across all three seasons. With the Queensland Maroons taking on the New South Wales Blues tonight in Sydney , Dan sat down for a chat about how the game of rugby league was depicted in Bluey. Dan unpacks some of his sound design, and some of the little things that you might have missed in the layers of sounds that make up 'The Decider'.     It's All Been 'Building' to This - The Lego x Bluey Pop-Up

    To celebrate the new Bluey LEGO sets that are now in stores, Brisbane’s biggest export has teamed up with the Danish powerhouse, with a new pop-up ice creamery with a difference. Set in the heart of South Bank, the setting for the Bluey episode ‘Ice Cream’, the pop-up will give Bluey fans of all ages the chance to recreate some of the ‘Ice Cream’ episode’s iconic scenes, and get their hands on some free LEGO ice cream. If you're in Brisbane get down to South Bank Parklands this week (activation closes at 6pm, Sunday June 8th) for some Bluey and LEGO fun! In this episode we speak to Australian five-time Paralympian Kurt Fearnley, who has also had a Bluey voice role, about why he and his family love Bluey.     Becoming Cheeky Dogs With Aussie Girl Margie

    We're so excited to have our favourite Bluey YouTuber on the podcast, with Aussie Girl Margie live in the studio! Margie Thompson is a Queenslander who lived in both North Queensland and Brisbane, before travelling the world and settling in the USA. For the last few years, Margie has been talking all things Bluey on her YouTube channel - episode recaps, fan theories, news, hidden details and Easter eggs. In this episode we talk being an Aussie expat in the US, her move back to Australia, how she discovered Bluey and why she loves these talking dogs from Brisbane.     Bluey's World x Gotta Be Done x Andrew Kay

    This is a massive episode because the opening of Bluey's World in the Brisbane riverside suburb of Hamilton has been massive! We were lucky enough to attend the official opening of Bluey's world, alongside all of the cast and crew of Bluey, as well as the creatives who have brought the interactive experience to (for) real life. Lou also caught up with Mary and Kate from the Gotta Be Done podcast on the first day Bluey's World was open to the public, and their podcast record was joined by Andrew Kay. Andrew is the producer of Bluey's World, and is also the producer of Bluey's Big Play: The Stage Show. Get tickets for Bluey's World here.     Bonus Bit - Who Let the CityDogs Out?

    Brisbane's iconic CityCats (named so as they are a catamaran) carry locals and visitors up and down the Brisbane River everyday. You've seen the CityCats in the Bluey episodes Spy Game and Ice Cream (and also in our pod artwork). To celebrate the opening of Bluey's World this week, 2 of the Brisbane CityCats have been transformed into City Dogs, with Bluey and Bingo now sailing up and down the Brisbane River. A few years ago we spoke to a Brisbane mum who had been petitioning the council to create CityDogs following the devastating Brisbane floods of 2022. Even though they've been created for a different reason, we cought up with Madonna Stephens to gauge her reaction to the CityDogs! We also hear from Brisbane Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, as well as Kate O'Conner who is the Director of Brands and Commercial for BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand.
