I used to enjoy this show. I admit that Brock was the main draw, but Salk was acceptable. Unfortunately it’s gotten to the point that listening to Salk is such a painful experience that I’m seriously considering unsubscribing. Right now I just skip to “Need to Know” and “Blue 88” and maybe the occasional interview. Everything else just turns into Salk’s solo negative spiraling rants full of condescension and/or defensiveness. All of it coming from a sense of superiority. When he IS interacting with others, he far too often cuts them off or talks over people who I really want to listen to. It’s frustrating.
His treatment of so many people is shockingly disgusting. Yet, even the slightest reciprocation is met with uncomfortable disapproval. It’s stopped being funny a long time ago. If he means it to be funny, he needs to reevaluate.
This review is getting far too long. I apologize. But one final point that needs to be made…. more than any other… semantics! The vast majority of people listening to this show care about sports! That’s what they care about…sports! Not semantics! Salk constantly refuses to listen to what people are actually trying to say and instead focuses on the tiniest (possibly misspoken) detail so he can twist it into something that he can argue against or use to demean people or use as a jumping off point to pridefully/gleefully continue filibustering his own point.
I’m just waiting for his replacement so that I can enjoy Brock again.
