    "3:10 to Yuma" & "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" w/ Daniel King and Quinn Shields

    Ah, to be an outlaw in the wild west. Got nothing but a crew to back you up. Like really nothing. As one my favorite criminals Neil McCauley once said, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner." They were living this life. These guys slept outside and had like one outfit. No wonder they were desperate for some cash. Crazy that capitalism was what got them all in the end. I'm pretty sure that's the main point of both of these films, "The Assassinations of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (written and directed by Andrew Dominik) as well as James' Mangolds remake of the 1957 classic, "3:10 to Yuma".     "DAAH Mist." (Man it's getting hard to write these.) This week we're diving into a science-fiction/horror double feature: Danny Boyle's box office bomb about bombing the sun, Sunshine, and The Mist, another Steven King adaptation by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile).  Taking a step away from covering the prestigious catalogue of art house films are the hosts of CriteriCast (@critericast)! Humanity's last hope AJ Bouland (@ehjaybooland) and creature from The Mist Gabe Pardekooper (@gpardekooper) help Louis brave the unknown horrors of this double feature...     ”Mr. Brooks” and ”Believers” with Averick Faeth

    Averick Faeth (@aveorrick) crashes the podcast with a direct-to-video movie he dug up at a gas station DVD Bargain Bin called "Believers", which is about an end of the world death cult. Directed by Daniel Myrack of The Blair Witch Project fame. Louis managed to dig up another film that feels like it doesn't exist called "Mr. Brooks" staring Kevin Costner as a serial killer, William Hurt as Costner's alter ego, Dane Cook as a wannabe aspiring serial killer, and Demi Moore as the homicide detective worth $60M trying to take it all down while going through a divorce.     Summer may be over, but we're bringing the heat!! It's a hot damn double. And damn do we have some hotties to chill out with on this episode. Sam Pinnelas (@pinnelas), producer at Too Lemon Productions (@toolemonofficial) joins the podcast with writer and professional nerd Robyn Beck (@robeanburrito19) to talk about two of the hottest comedies to come out of the USA & the UK in 2007.  Did you know that there were Americans in test screenings who were confused by the title "Hot Fuzz" because they mistakenly thought 'Fuzz' was a British term?     Phone rings, door chimes, in comes Cinema Span! It's a Stephen Sondheim double feature, starting with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's proper film adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Following that up we have the filmed version of the 2006 Broadway Revival Cast of Company. It was filmed in 2007 so it counts, okay?   Joining the theater geek out session are Samantha Georgette Reed (@samanthageorgettereed) of Archetypes Productions (@Archetypesproductions) and returning guest, comedian/improvisor Devin Beckwith (@devinbeckwith).
