Over the years and despite thousands of interviews, Conan has never made a real and lasting friendship with any of his celebrity guests. So, he started a podcast to do just that. Deeper, unboundedly playful, and free from FCC regulations, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend is a weekly opportunity for Conan to hang out with the people he enjoys most and perhaps find some real friendship along the way.

Conan O’Brien really needs a friend. But does he need a podcast? Turns out he does. If only to find that friend. Conan's bringing his favorite celebrity guests by the studio for some friendly conversations. In the meantime, he is joined by his dependable assistant Sona Movsesian, in an attempt to figure out why a venerable TV legend like himself might want to start a podcast in the first place. Is it really for the friendship, or just the fortune and glory? Or is it maybe to show everyone else just how wrong they’ve been doing it up to now? Weekly episodes start this fall. I love this podcast and want to wait to listen to each one as I am sad when they finish. A lot of people move away on the train in Tokyo because of laughing to myself, gives me more space anyway. Thanks guys you are great! Oh, and Conan you are good too…😎

I thought Conan was famous, why is does he need to have ice cream can of himself to promote his new program hahaha is he trying to be hip? Isn’t that what K-pop idols do to promote their album? P.s. im still waiting for BTS to go on Conan’s show. J-Hope the guy who called you curtain is serving his military service but his friend and one of the BTS member RM who can speak English very well hasn’t entered yet!! Please do a collab it would be my dream!! (I am J-ARMY) Sending love from Japan I hope you come back to Japan soon too!

I recently moved to the States from Japan for my college education, but I’ve been a huge CONAF fan since I started listening in 2019. Back in Japan, because it’s outside of the states obviously, we couldn’t listen to all the ads, so when I listened to one of the episodes from your podcast, I was super excited that I could listen to the ads!! I love that with the power of Conan, Sona and Matt, ads become so much more than ads!! Anyway, love the podcast and wish you guys the best!!
