    Ep 232 - Think of the Kids

    This week Kevin enters his glasses era after discovering he has astigmatism and the lads spend a significant amount of time unpacking what this means for him personally, professionally and spiritually. While the realisation has shaken him slightly, mainly because it has forced him to confront the fact that youth is perhaps not as close as it once was, there are upsides. Chief among them is the discovery that wearing glasses may actually improve his flirting success rate. For the theme, Kevin and PJ dive into dating horror stories. From a girl whose date casually drove off in her car for twenty minutes leaving her stranded on a country road, to a man who spent an entire date aggressively eating wedges with greasy hands and an alarming number of ketchup sachets, the lads weigh in on the red flags, the survival tactics and the lessons learned.     Ep 231 - What If You Fly?

    This week Kevin and PJ are celebrating seven years of I'm Grand Mam. The lads take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the highs, the lows and everything in between that’s happened since they first hit record.     Ep 230 - Find the Fixer Upper

    This week the lads are pondering the benefits of taking on a bit of fixer upper when dating; the return on investment is tenfold, girls! They also discuss PJ’s grooming habits, and Kevin sings “boots, that’s my ego boost” approximately 704 times.  Then for the theme, the boys are covering something near and dear to their hearts: the TV talent show. They reminisce on everything from Cher Lloyd’s iconic Halloween cover of Stay, to Ireland’s best talent show, You’re A Star.     Ep 229 - Chilli on the Willy

    Kevin’s feeling a bit under the weather this week, and PJ’s advice isn’t going down too well. This week, the lads talk all about pretentious London yoga classes, hot instructors and PJ’s recent D.I.Y. successes, before unpacking the perils of cooking with chillies. Just an average day at I’m Grand Mam HQ! For the theme, inspired slightly by Heated Rivalry, they dive into double lives. Covering everything from Hannah Montana to spy Mata Hari and actor Rock Hudson, they realise that queer people can particularly relate to the idea of having a double life. They then read some listener stories and take one main thing away from them: having a double life would have them wrecked.     This week Kevin and PJ recount a tasting menu experience in Lisbon. While they fully respect the ethos of zero-waste restaurants, the lads admit that tackling fermented everything while severely hungover was not their finest moment and the very modest portion sizes did little to lift spirits. For the theme, they dive into the Brooklyn Beckham drama, sharing their thoughts, giving their two cents, and discussing how intimidating it must be to find yourself in a feud where your nemesis is, quite literally, a Spice Girl.     Ep 227 - I Think in Pink

    The boys are in Lisbon and as gorgeous as the city is Kevin takes a moment to criticise all the hills and cobbled roads that resulted in him falling off a Lime scooter en route to a Crossfit class. PJ reminisces on his chaotic 18th birthday party where fake IDs and stray fists were in plentiful supply. Prompted by this episode coming out on Blue Monday the lads have a discussion about made up holidays and ask why January is such a depressing month and Kevin puts forward a bid for dry January to be changed to a dry November going forward because the month is already horrendous enough as it is. They also make plans for celebrating I'm Grand Mam day which is happening on the 16th of February when the podcast celebrates 7 years in production.     This week PJ discovers that his mam has her priest’s personal number and has been quietly organising communion drop offs via Whatsapp while she’s been unable to attend mass with her leg, which raises several questions for the lads. There is also a live tasting of José’s homemade biscuits in studio and Kevin recalls the antics of his Crossfit Christmas night out. For the theme the lads share their ins and outs for the year. PJ declares contradicting yourself firmly in and WHOOPS officially out, while Kevin predicts that 2026 will be a big year for corn and but he says he'd like to see the end of the focaccia sandwich.
