    もちろん。漢字にだけふりがなを付ける形で。 パースに来（き）て３週間（しゅうかん）がたちました。定期的（ていきてき）にきちんとリリースできていなくてすみません。 今回（こんかい）は海外（かいがい）に出（で）て、あらためて気（き）がついた日本（にほん）のこと。 日本（にほん）の製品開発力（せいひんかいはつりょく）、日本製品（にほんせいひん）のクオリティーの高（たか）さ、それとは到底（とうてい）見合（みあ）わない製品（せいひん）の価格（かかく）。 なぜ日本（にほん）のものはこんなにいいのに、経済（けいざい）は何十年（なんじゅうねん）も停滞（ていたい）したままなのか。 そこには複雑（ふくざつ）な事情（じじょう）が絡（から）みあった、日本独特（にほんどくとく）の経済構造（けいざいこうぞう）があるようです。 今回（こんかい）はそんな難（むずか）しいことを、ど素人目線（しろうとめせん）から話（はな）しています。笑（わら） そんな難（むずか）しい言葉（ことば）は使（つか）ってないはずなので、ご安心（あんしん）ください。 It’s been three weeks since I arrived in Perth! Sorry we haven’t been able to release episodes regularly. This time, we’re talking about something we’ve noticed again since being overseas: Japan and its economy. Japan has incredible product development skills and produces such high-quality products, yet the prices often seem surprisingly low for what you get. If Japanese products are this good, why has the economy remained stagnant for decades? It seems there’s a uniquely Japanese economic structure behind it, with many complicated factors intertwined. In this episode, we’re trying to talk about this rather complicated topic from complete amateurs’ points of view. lol Don’t worry though—we don’t think we use too many difficult words!

    最近（さいきん）アップロードが不規則（ふきそく）でごめんなさい！パースに来（く）る前（まえ）と来（き）てからでバタバタが続（つづ）いています。 もう日本（にほん）では夏休（なつやす）みが終（お）わってしまいましたが、8月31日（はちがつさんじゅういちにち）の夏休（なつやす）みの終（お）わりにあるあるについて話（はな）しました。 長（なが）い休（やす）みが終（お）わって学校（がっこう）に戻（もど）るのは誰（だれ）も気（き）が重（おも）いと思（おも）いますが、それ以上（いじょう）に大変（たいへん）な夏休（なつやす）みの宿題（しゅくだい）について話（はな）しています。 宿題（しゅくだい）が多（おお）い日本（にほん）の夏休（なつやす）み。8月31日（はちがつさんじゅういちにち）は親子共々（おやこともども）大変（たいへん）な思（おも）いをします。 みなさんの国（くに）の夏休（なつやす）みの終（お）わりはどんな感（かん）じですか？ Sorry my uploads have been a bit irregular lately! Things have been pretty hectic both before and since I arrived in Perth. Summer vacation has already ended in Japan, but in this episode, we talk about something many Japanese families experience around August 31st—the end of summer vacation. Going back to school after a long break is never easy, but there’s something even more stressful: summer vacation homework! Japanese students usually get quite a lot of homework over the summer, so August 31st can be a very stressful day for both kids and their parents. What is the end of summer vacation like in your country?

    日本（にほん）では夏（なつ）といえば花火（はなび）です。花火大会（はなびたいかい）もたくさんあるし、手（て）で持（も）つ花火（はなび）でみんなで遊（あそ）んだりするのも夏（なつ）の風物詩（ふうぶつし）です。 ですが、先日（せんじつ）オーストラリアの生徒（せいと）に、オーストラリアでは花火（はなび）を買（か）うことはできない、と言（い）われました。理由（りゆう）は、花火（はなび）を使（つか）ったいたずらが多（おお）いから。 似（に）たようないたずらはアメリカにもあるそうですが、アメリカでは普通（ふつう）に花火（はなび）が買（か）えるそうです。 そんな会話（かいわ）から、今回（こんかい）は日本人（にほんじん）のモラルやマナーについて多少（たしょう）触（ふ）れながら、花火（はなび）について話（はな）しました。 みなさんの国（くに）では花火（はなび）はできますか？笑In Japan, summer means fireworks. There are lots of fireworks festivals, and getting together with friends or family and playing with handheld fireworks is also a classic part of summer in Japan. The other day, though, one of my Australian students told me that you can’t just buy fireworks in Australia. Apparently, one of the reasons is that people have used them for pranks and caused trouble. I heard that similar things happen in the US too, but apparently you can still buy fireworks there. That conversation got us talking about fireworks, and also a little bit about manners and how people behave in Japan. So, can you buy and use fireworks in your country? Haha. Kaiwa:

    若者（わかもの）の間（あいだ）では、いろいろなSNSが流行（はや）っているみたいですが、日本（にほん）の若（わか）い子（こ）たちに人気（にんき）のSNSアプリについて、とらくんが紹介（しょうかい）してくれました。 BeReal（ビーリアル）というアプリや、友達（ともだち）同士（どうし）で現在（げんざい）の位置（いち）を共有（きょうゆう）するアプリが前（まえ）は流行（はや）っていたのですが、今（いま）は別（べつ）の新（あたら）しいSNSが人気（にんき）のようです。 とらくん自身（じしん）も、そのアプリを友達（ともだち）グループで使（つか）って、毎日（まいにち）の生活（せいかつ）をシェアしているみたいです。 私（わたし）からすると、その良（よ）さがまったく分（わ）からないものでしたが、もしかしたら、みなさんも試（ため）してみたら意外（いがい）と面白（おもしろ）いかも？ 面白（おもしろ）くないかも？（笑） Have you ever wondered which social media apps are popular with young people in Japan these days?     S2 Eps17 日本がきれいなのは誰のおかげ？ゴミ箱少なすぎ問題。Who Really Keeps Japan Clean? Why Are There So Few Rubbish Bins in Japan?

    六月（ろくがつ）の初（はじ）めに、東京（とうきょう）の八王子市（はちおうじし）にある高尾山（たかおさん）に行（い）ってきました。 その時（とき）にゴミを捨（す）てるところがなくて困（こま）ったという話（はなし）をしています。 というより、日本（にほん）全体（ぜんたい）でゴミ箱（ばこ）って少（すく）なすぎると思（おも）いませんか。 なのに、日本（にほん）は道端（みちばた）にゴミが落（お）ちていない、きれいな国（くに）です。 でも、そのきれいな国（くに）の国民（こくみん）の一人（ひとり）として思（おも）っていることを、正直（しょうじき）に、結構（けっこう）熱（あつ）めに語（かた）っています。笑 かなり悪（わる）い言葉（ことば）を言（い）っているところもあるので、聞（き）き流（なが）してください。笑 At the beginning of June, I visited Mount Takao in Hachioji, Tokyo. In this episode, I talk about how I struggled to find a place to throw away my rubbish while I was there. Actually, it made me wonder—don't you think Japan has far too few public bins? Even so, Japan is known as a clean country where you hardly ever see litter on the streets. As someone who lives here, I share my honest thoughts about that contradiction, and I get pretty passionate about it! 😂 I also use some rather strong language in parts of the episode, so please don't take it too seriously and just enjoy the rant. 😆

    S2 Eps16: 3カ国開催のワールドカップに物申す My Thoughts on the Three-Country World Cup

    ワールドカップが 日本（にほん） ではだいぶ 盛（も） り上（あ）がっていますね。Round 32 に 勝（か） ち進（すす） んだ 日本（にほん） は、残念（ざんねん） なことに 負（ま） けてしまいましたが、よく 頑張（がんば） ったと 思（おも） います。 今回（こんかい）、史上初（しじょうはつ） の 3（さん） か国（こく）同時開催（どうじかいさい） となっていますが、グループ分（わ） けやリーグのやり方（かた） について、なんとなく 気（き） に入（い） らないというか、なんか 腑（ふ） に落（お） ちない 部分（ぶぶん） があります。 今回（こんかい） のポッドキャストでは、そんな 文句（もんく） たっぷりの 回（かい） になっています。日本（にほん） が 負（ま） けたから負（ま） け惜（お） しみで 言（い） っている訳（わけ） じゃないんですけど……。（笑） いつもの マキコ節（まきこぶし） だと 思（おも） って、軽（かる） く 流（なが） してください。 The World Cup has really been generating a lot of excitement here in Japan. Unfortunately, Japan was knocked out after reaching the Round of 32, but I think they played incredibly well and should be proud of what they achieved. This is the first World Cup ever to be hosted by three countries at the same time. However, I have to admit there are some things about the group allocation and the tournament format that just don't sit right with me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something feels off. So, this episode is basically me complaining about all of that! It's not that I'm just being a sore loser because Japan was eliminated... haha. Just think of it as another classic "Makiko rant" and don't take it too seriously! 😄

    S2 Eps15 ワールドカップ、みなさん見てますか？ ～サッカー好きの息子に聞いてみた～ Are You Watching the World Cup? – A Chat with My Football-Loving Son

    ワールドカップがアメリカ、メキシコ、カナダの3か国（さんかこく）で行（おこな）われていますが、みなさんはどれくらい見（み）ていますか？ 日本人（にほんじん）は結構（けっこう）ワールドカップやサッカーが好（す）きな人（ひと）が多（おお）いので、かなり盛（も）り上（あ）がっています。 私（わたし）はあまり気（き）にしていないので詳（くわ）しくは知（し）らないのですが、とらくんがワールドカップ好（ず）きなので、いろいろと調（しら）べてくれました。 興味（きょうみ）がある人（ひと）はもちろん、私（わたし）でも分（わ）かるくらいなので、サッカーに興味（きょうみ）がない人（ひと）でも一応（いちおう）分（わ）かる内容（ないよう）になっています（笑）。 とらくんのワールドカップ・サッカー解説（かいせつ）、お楽（たの）しみください（笑）。 The World Cup is being held across three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. How much have you been watching? In Japan, a lot of people really enjoy the World Cup and football, so there’s been quite a lot of excitement. I personally haven’t been following it that closely, so I don’t know much about it. But Tora loves the World Cup, so he looked up a lot of information for us. Of course, this episode is for people who are interested in football, but Tora explains it clearly enough that even I can understand it. So even if you’re not really into football, you should still be able to follow along. Please enjoy Tora’s World Cup and football commentary!
