    Reggie Collier

    Reggie Collier is a Southern Miss legend . He became the first NCAA Division I quarterback to both pass for 1,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season. He was selected third overall in the 1983 USFL Draft by the Birmingham Stallions and later played for the Washington Federals and Orlando Renegades, totaling more than 4,100 passing yards and over 1,000 rushing yards in the league. Jeff is man of great faith, who had the determination and skill to go from tiny Bassfield High School to the National Football League. Jeff was a member of the famed Nasty Bunch defense at Southern Miss, and during this interview talks from the bottom of his heart about the family, coaches, and supporters that lifted him in his remarkable athletic journey .

Roberts reflects on his career from 1995 to 1998, when he helped lead the Golden Eagles to back-to-back Conference USA Football Championship and Conference USA Football Championship titles. During his standout career, he threw for 6,289 passing yards and 52 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the most productive quarterbacks in Southern Miss history. Ghetti and Nix talks about his coaching career at Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Southern Miss. The brother of great Derrick Nix, who is the current wide receivers coach at Alabama.     Jay Hopson

    This week on Legends, Bob talks with Starkville High Athletic Director and former Southern Miss football head coach Jay Hopson. Southern Miss hired Hopson as its defensive backs coach in 2001. Hopson coached after the great Tyrone Nix, who was elevated to defensive coordinator. Hopson served as defensive coordinator 2005-2007. He returned to Southern Miss in 2016 as head coach and was tenured to the 2020 season. He went 28-23 as head football coach of Southern Miss. 4 Bob talks with Jay about his time at Southern Miss, why he decided to leave USM and what he's done after his time with the Golden Eagles.
