    Short Shorts - Episode 5

    On Episode 5 of Short Shorts, we talk to Isorine from Jamii about the tie between running and community in the Esplanade neighbourhood of Toronto. They are amazing partners of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and also our neighbours! We then catch up with Søren, one of the founders of the world-famous Mikkeller Running Club. He fills us in about the history of their running club and the natural connection between beer and running around the globe. Lastly, our friends from the Vancouver Frontrunners talk to us about the 15th Annual Vancouver Pride Run & Walk happening this July.

    Short Shorts - Episode 4

    Short Shorts - Episode 3

    On Episode 3, we check in with Ryan’s new-to-running buddy Dan (dan_smithson11) and see if Ryan lived up to his promise of a new running hat. We then chat about the intense world of Strava segment hunting & the Edmonton run scene with Patrick Sperling (@dumpster_diver). We then get to hear the audio of Ryan running a beer mile featuring a pre-race interview where he discovers what his daughters really think about his beer mile attempt. We close out the show with a recap of the Vancouver Virtual Beer Mile including chats with the champions, Ian Thomson (@brewforthought) and Maddie Wiseman (@maddie_wiseman_).

    Short Shorts - Episode 2

    First, Ryan catches up with Mel Ofner (@MelSays) from Run Distrikt in North Vancouver. With a due date set for next week, they talk about the importance that running played throughout her pregnancy. Then, Steph McGregor (@anygivenrunday) walks us through how she trained during her pregnancy, what it was like returning to the sport after giving birth and setting goals as a new mom, including the Mother's Day goal of her first half marathon since having her baby! Lecia Mancini (@Loopin_Lecia) is a motherlike figure in the Montreal Running Community. Ryan chats with her about a unique fundraiser done by her community in an effort to raise money for COVID-related charities. We close the show with a spontaneous chat with Ryan’s favourite Mum, his wife Charlotte (@chasteele). She talks about living with a runner and how she handles sharing the spotlight with his obsession.

    Short Shorts - Episode 1

    On Episode 1, Ryan is joined by Heather Gardner (@catchingheather) from TRIBE FITNESS. They talk about how she was able to switch her fitness studio to an online forum seemingly overnight and how she has maintained such a strong connection to her community during these socially distant times.  Then, Richard Kuchinsky (@rkuchinsky) walks us through his own virtual race day with a personally branded Bostoronto Marathon following the disappointment of his debut Boston Marathon postponement.  With gyms closed, Dan Smithson (@dan_smithson11) is newish to the world of running. We check in to see how the re-introduction to the sport is treating him and Ryan entices him with free stuff so that he stays in the sport even when the gyms reopen.  Cory Jennermann (@runguides) also stops by to promote his upcoming race, the Virtual Vancouver Beer Mile, in case you needed a legitimate training excuse for your post-run beer(s).
